🌏ESH@Punggol play their part in caring for the environment🌳 Last Saturday, 16 clients, caregivers, and volunteers from ESH@Punggol came together to give back to the community through a beach clean-up at Pasir Ris Park. Organised by the passionate youths behind Project Katharise, the outing was not just about keeping the environment clean but also about fostering inclusion and shared purpose. Everyone at ESH@Punggol enjoyed the meaningful activity and were happy to contribute back to community 🧡 We were delighted to also meet Pasir Ris-Punggol MP, Mr Sharael Taha, who shared valuable insights on the park’s rich eco-diversity. It was a meaningful and enriching day, where everyone of different abilities played a part in caring for nature and our shared spaces🫶 [Images include alt text for people using screen readers.] #carefortheenvironment #beachcleanup #ESHPunggol #SPDSingapore

"Working as a social worker in an early intervention centre is both rewarding and enjoyable for many reasons. One of the most fulfilling aspects is the opportunity to positively impact the lives of young children and their families. Early intervention can significantly improve developmental outcomes, and being part of that process is deeply satisfying." Social worker Michelle Tham was among 7 SPD staff honoured at this year's Singapore Health Quality Service Awards (SHQSA) ceremony, receiving the Gold award for SPD. We caught up with her to find out what drives her to go above and beyond, and what this recognition means to her - https://lnkd.in/g7jCdhz2 🧡 #SHQSA #serviceexcellence #socialworker #earlyintervention #SPDEIPIC #SPDKembangan #SPDUPDATES #SPDSingapore

“Inclusion begins with mutual respect. It’s about seeing persons with disabilities as equal contributors, not just beneficiaries of charity.” SPD Advisor Ms Yong Yong Chia and SPD Inclusion Champion Ms Zoe Zora have dedicated themselves to breaking down barriers for persons with disabilities and advocating for an inclusive Singapore where everyone has a place to contribute. Both Ms Chia and Ms Zora were interviewed for Her World Singapore’s special SG60 edition feature that tells the stories of 60 women (and more) who have shaped Singapore, past and present. We partnered The Purple Parade to conduct their ‘Walk In My Shoes series - Disability Etiquette on Wheels" experiential workshop last Saturday at the Enabling Village. Besides getting to know more about disability inclusion, participants also engaged in simulation activities, including a session aboard SBS Transit’s CARES Community Bus, to experience what daily public transport journeys are like for some persons with disabilities. A reflection session wrapped up the day, reminding us that small actions and patience can make a big difference in fostering a more inclusive society. A huge thank you to all participants, and partners — The Purple Parade, SBS Transit Ltd, Caring SG Commuters, Public Transport Council — for being a part of this session. Public transport is for everyone so let’s continue working towards a more accessible and understanding community 🧡 #disabilityawareness #inclusion #BeGracious #WalkInMyShoes #ThePurpleParade #CaringSGCommuters #SBSTransit #SPDSingapore
🚍 Throwback to Our ‘Walk In My Shoes’ Workshop – Disability Etiquette on Wheels! 💜 Last Saturday, we teamed up with SPD, SBS Transit Ltd, and Public Transport Council (under Caring SG Commuters) to host a meaningful workshop on disability etiquette. Participants gained valuable insights from local disability-focused charity SPD, learning about different disabilities, challenges of persons with disabilities (PwDs), and how to interact with the community with respect and empathy. The highlight? Experiential activities walking in the shoes of persons with disabilities, including a hands-on session aboard SBS Transit’s CARES Community Bus—where participants got a real feel for the barriers PWDs navigate when taking public transport. A big thank you to everyone who joined us! Every step towards awareness brings us closer to a more inclusive society. Let’s continue to learn, support, and celebrate abilities! Stay tuned for more workshops coming up this year 💜 #ThePurpleParade #TPP #SPDSingapore #SBSTransit #CaringSGCommuters #PWDs #WalkInMyShoes #BeGracious #SupportInclusion #CelebrateAbilities #GetIN
