About us
Xinterra is a materials centric company unlocking innovation towards accelerating and increasing the efficiency of materials research and development. Building upon decades of materials experience, we innovate new materials that are essential for sustainable products and applications. We use our XDF platform (Xinterra Design Factory™) to create groundbreaking materials in record time. XDF uniquely combines state-of-the-art Artificial Intelligence systems with custom-made High Throughput Experimentation Tools and deep expertise in Materials Science. Our platform is able to either draw actionable intelligence from established protocols, or build something completely new from the ground up, in order to leap-frog the state-of-the-art. Our business model is manufacturing and commercializing the materials we developed. In selected cases we make our materials IP available for licensing. We are the proud inventors of COzTERRA, our brand for CO2 removal materials. Over time we will create multiple materials verticals. Not theory. Not simulation. We design real materials you can touch, test, adopt and sell. 🚀Milestone Alert! 🎤We are now proud to announce the following key milestones reached by Xinterra: 1) Our CO2 Capture product COzTERRA has received the OEKO-TEX Eco-Passport certification, along with the ZDHC MRSL Level 3 and have now been listed on the ZDHC Product Gateway The OEKO-TEX Eco-Passport certification which certifies the safety of the chemicals, is a crucial step as it is a widely accepted certification in the textile industry The ZDHC product gateway now has COzTERRA listed along with our product certification clearly displayed to all current and future users of the platform. 2) Xinterra has now received a certificate of approval from Intertek as a Customer Testing Facility. This allows us to be an Intertek certified testing facility for CO2 removal testing. This is a significant step forward for us as we can now enable customers to get 3rd party certifiable test results of their fabrics thus better enabling customer acceptance. 💡Are you curious to know more about COzTERRA? AI meets materials science In her usual rapid-fire talk style, our managing partner Dr. Min Zhou got on stage one month ago at the Innovation China 2024 conference, to share CM Venture Capital's view on AI meeting materials science. Explaining the particularities of material discovery in the Design > Build > Test > Learn cycle, Dr. Min Zhou shared why there have not been many publicized commercial successes of new materials discovered with AI, although the first AI+materials startup Citrine Informatics started more than 11 years ago in silicon valley. However with advancement in computing power, AI tools, high throughput experimentation, big corporates getting interested, and entrepreneurs attracted to the field by the AI boom, we believe that an inflection point is coming. There will be an exponential growth in new materials coming onto the market that are aided by AI in its design. Dr. Min Zhou also shared that the CM Venture team believes that there are different business models for startups in China vs in the US/European markets in this field. With speed of execution, large manufacturing base, very flexible supply chain, it's much easier for Chinese startups to actually prototype, test and manufacture and sell materials that AI models predict, as a result, product companies are possible and desirable in China. In contrast, we see many startups in the mature US and European markets that sell AI tools and platform to large MNC companies who want to explore the abundance of proprietary data that these companies have. Software or platform based companies like Citrine Informatics suit the western markets very well. Greg Mulholland, CEO of Citrine Informatics gave a virtual talk at the conference as well, sharing lessons learned as the first startup in the field. So did Patrick Teyssonneyre, CEO of Xinterra as well as Chinese startups in the field. Founded by scientists, investing at tech+market inflection point is our #1 strategy. We will announce our first investment in AI + Materials soon. Stay tuned! #AI #materials #China #startup #VC #DBTL

Our CTO and Co-founder Jatin Kumar had the honor to present COzTERRA this week to the President of Singapore Tharman Shanmugaratnam!
It was my honour to be invited to Vidacity‘s grand opening and to be on the panel discussion discussing pathways to scale sustainability in Singapore and beyond. I introduced the work we’re doing with COzTERRA and shared Xinterra’s vision of a future of sustainable materials. Got to meet a lot of very interesting people to discuss ideas of how we can shape our future, especially Mr President Tharman Shanmugaratnam himself, as well as minister Desmond Tan. Thank you to Jeremy A. Sim for inviting me to this panel, my fellow panelists Sharon Tay & Cristina Ventura Serra for a wonderful discussion (hopefully the first of many to seed initiatives to make this world a better place). Most of all congratulations to the talented team of Zac Toh Tatiana Ratcu Siufi Jason Ng & Hui Ming Chee for the grand opening of your wonderful facility!

🚀One more big milestone reached! Greetings from our talented Xinterra team, who have worked tirelessly to make the first ever batch of CO2 capturing teeshirts, treated with COzTERRA! As we wear these proudly, we look forward to the day we see all clothing in stores remove CO2 from air. These teeshirts are a symbol of that possibility, and a step to empower individuals to fight climate change and impact collectively.
