As part of the #SafetyAndPrevention2024 event with Slovensko združenje za požarno varstvo / Slovenian Fire Protection Association as the lead partner, we hosted a group of nine guests at the ZAG - Zavod za gradbeništvo Slovenije Fire Laboratory in Logatec. This visit offered attendees an insight into our work in the #FRISSBE department at ZAG and a close-up look at our advanced fire testing capabilities. The Department for Fire-safe sustainable built environment has two units - the Fire Laboratory and Fire Engineering unit (head: Friderik Knez) and the Fire Research and Innovation unit (head: Aleš Jug). The visit began with an engaging presentation by Friderik Knez, who highlighted ongoing projects in the department and the lab's specialized capabilities. Following the talk, Nataša Knez guided our guests on an in-depth tour through the lab facilities, providing an overview of the equipment and processes that support our accredited testing and research. The visit culminated with a live demonstration prepared and carried out by Kirils Simakovs and lab staff. The demo included tests with various setups, notably a photovoltaic (PV) mockup made of metal, designed to illustrate how fire spread varies across different materials and setups. Past week, the #FRISSBE team was at Safety and Prevention 2024 Congress & Expo event focused on fire safety, occupational health, and security. The event brought together industry leaders, researchers, and the public to explore the latest advancements and challenges in safety and prevention. We were glad to have Aleš Jug and Grunde Jomaas take part in the opening speeches. We are participating in Safety & Prevention 2024, the second congress and expo dedicated to fire safety, safety at work, and security, taking place today and tomorrow in Ljubljana. We were pleased to welcome Prof Spencer Quiel, PhD, P.E.
