did you steal anything or try to ride the donkeys before talking to the vendor (considered stealing too)? if so, just going away for a while should fix it (3 game days until stuff like this resets iirc).
or he'd also be hostile if you killed one of the pets (including the obnoxious mudcrabs and the caged fox in serpent's bluff redoubt) - that'd be worse, guess it'd take some consoling to fix this, if you're still having this, let me know and i'll see what i can do

...you'll end up the same travelling circus i did it seems (me, my donkey, the AutoMate (from nas-zel), 2 white foxes (one regular pet, and Snoop, the captured one in, uh, the forsworn hangout above reach stables), and whenever anyone was coming at us, all animals in sight came running to our aid, never brought myself to go without that ever after again :-)
setting a stage won't help you much because it won't stop the scene she's in ("busy").
if you want to try to fix it via console, do what i posted below and console-move her to her destination, that's definitely your best bet at the moment before i get to looking into this

thx, good to know, never tried CH (i personally use "oblivious horses" and my own park-your-ride mod), but i tried to keep the donkeys as vanilla horse compatible as i could (in fact, they're a horse to the game in everything but their "race").
...there currently seems to be an issue with this one concerning the dialogue pet controls (in my game anyway), currently checking this and fix coming up
Did you know that your “Donkey King” is compatible with “Convenient Horse”?
The key commands for picking flowers, Inventory etc. work for the Donkey as well?
Is this intentional? It’s great!

sorry for taking so long, the issue was extremely hard to find (thx for pointing me to it to cd_cooley from beth forums), and day work was eating my modding time...
(and thx for reporting everybody, wouldn't have noticed in a 100 years)
or you can also start the quest directly at the ruin, it's right above bloated man's grotto .
might also be a bug though (see posts before yours), still gotta look into this (sorry for taking so long, acute case of radiation poisoning :-)
I haven't found either notes or the ruin so far, although I finished most dungenonquest bevor I got the mod. Is it possible I've just been to few ruins? (I found one pet though...)
if feels-the-beasts is back at reach stables and the main quest completed, tubby should sell anyway, you really sure she's back (if not, the main quest's NOT yet completed, check your quest log for "Lost In Eggtion")? this can take her a while, esp in heavily modded games with broken ext navmeshes
gonna take another thorough look into this anyway, currently playing fo4 and back to modding in a week or so :-)
so "can't get" means you don't get the dialogue to buy one? or the vendors won't talk to you? or there's no donkeys there? or...?
on a general side note: you didn't happen to "reinstall" on the same save? if you saved with the mod, then removed it and saved without and then "reinstalled", this can cause all kind of unpredictable glitches (for _any_ scripted mod, not just this one)
1) out of shop hours. oh ok but you wouldn't get that the buy-pet-dialogue at all if it was that, forget this one :-)
2) the most likely one as i see it: after ftb returns, she'll yet have to "train" new pets, meaning, they'll unlock about 1-2 new kinds a day, but only while you're _not_at_the_stables_ (so just waiting there wouldn't do the trick), and you'll only get buy options for kinds you've _seen_ (when new pets have unlocked, they'll hang around the place and you'll get "pet unlocked: xxx" messages as soon as you see one of them. (yeeeah agreed, this take some time - just wanted to keep it at least a bit realistic :-)
3) some serious yet unknown issue with the mod, so if it's not 2, let me know and i'll see if i can console you through this. (and i have an update with couple tweaks under construction anyway, i'll see i'll get that out till tomorrow)
if you _get_ that dialogue line at all basically means they _do_ speak anyway, if they didn't at all, (or if they were stuck in a scene etc) you couldn't even enter dialogue.
so if you didn't complete the main quest, tubby might just have run out of "before you can buy a pet"-lines to say? if he _would_ sell you a donkey at the same time, it'd be that :-)
...or maybe you caught him out of shop hours? (can't remember for sure right now though if he has any or is "always open")
(...and the main quest completes when ftb safely arrives back at the stables, this takes her a while sometimes (to pass the time, you could check out the side quests (both earning you unique extra pets) waiting in nas-zel's janitor's quarters - if you found a key in nas-zel - and serpents bluff redoubt :-)
which characters don't speak, all of them? and before/during/after main quest?
and did they ever speak and stop, or never spoke at all?
(for a shot in the dark, if none of them speak, and consoling "sqv s7oDK01questDonkeyKing"
says "running" at the bottom, your archive might be corrupt or incomplete, to fix this one, you can delete s7oDonkeyKing.bsa from your data folder and be sure to let steam redownload it on next game start.
if other, pls let me know.
no known issue anyhow, normally they do.
(that's in english game versions anyway. can't say anything about language versions, if you use one)

...and the donkeys are NOT invincible, just really, really sturdy. they CAN be killed though (if you're patient) :-)
following the mudcrabs is optional anyhow, you still can proceed with the quest, the target location is on the mountain right above Bloated Man's Grotto (from DK stables, just follow the road east)
* the crabs attacking is normal - Tubby means it when he says "keep a safe distance, they're crazy!" :-) - you'd just have to get away from them if they do, as soon as they drop out of combat, they forget about you (their only interest after all is getting to FTB to finish her up :-)
the other animals shouldn't bother though, that's what the issue is
I opened up the mudcrab cage, then all of the animals attacked me. I killed them all, including the mudcrabs. Then it tells me to follow the crabs to the pet trainers location. But I can't, because they are dead. Can someone help me out here please?
