Patna: The Danapur division of the East Central Railway (ECR) is gearing up for a major milestone as it celebrates its 100th anniversary this Friday at Jagjeevan Stadium in Khagaul, located on the outskirts of the city. A grand event will be held to commemorate this century-long journey, which has witnessed significant contributions to the growth and development of Indian Railways.
Danapur ADRM Aadhar Raj told this newspaper on Thursday that hundreds of retired and serving railway officials are expected to attend the celebrations reflecting on the rich history of the division which has played a pivotal role in connecting communities and fostering economic progress across Bihar and beyond. "A highlight of the centenary event will be the release of a First Day Cover along with the unveiling of a souvenir and coffee table book," he said.
Raj said the book, which chronicles the achievements and stories from the past 100 years, will serve as a tribute to the tireless efforts of railway personnel and the division's importance in the region. "Participants will also witness cultural performances, speeches by senior railway officials and the unveiling of various exhibits showcasing the division's legacy," he said.
The event promises to be a momentous occasion for all who have been a part of the division's journey. "The celebration will also feature a special tribute to the division's employees who have played a crucial role in ensuring safe and efficient rail operations," the ADRM said.
