Today, Hydrogen Ukraine introduced its strategic Hydrogen Valleys in the Odesa and Zakarpattia regions at the Czech Hydrogen Backbone Dialogue, hosted by NET4GAS. These projects underscore Ukraine's advancing role in Europe's hydrogen landscape, supporting a sustainable and interconnected energy future. As part of the Odesa #HydrogenValley, we are not only focused on #hydrogen production, but we are developing technical documentation for a #HydrogenPipeline between Ukraine and Romania, which has the potential to connect to both the #CentralEuropeanHydrogenCorridor and the Trans-Balkan Corridor, which is part of the #EuropeanHydrogenBackbone. Our technical solutions will facilitate the integration of Ukrainian projects into the European hydrogen network. For Zakarpattia, the Central European Hydrogen Corridor is of significant importance, offering a critical link to major European markets and supporting the region’s potential as a #HydrogenHub. The findings from the pipeline feasibility study in Odesa will also be applied to the Zakarpattia Valley, ensuring a coordinated approach to hydrogen development across Ukraine. Hydrogen Ukraine, in collaboration with NTUU “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute,” took part in a pivotal workshop as part of the "Capacity Building for a New Generation of Scientists in Energy Security and Climate Neutrality" project. The event, supported by the NATO Science for Peace and Security Programme (SPS), was held at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics. Iaroslav Kryl, CEO of Hydrogen Ukraine, delivered a keynote address, highlighting the crucial role of #HydrogenEnergy in Ukraine’s sustainable recovery. His speech focused on the development of hydrogen valleys in the Odesa and Zakarpattia regions 🌍, emphasizing how #hydrogen energy can drive energy independence and economic growth, particularly in the context of the global shift towards #RenewableResources 🌱. The development of hydrogen energy in Ukraine aligns closely with several of NATO’s and the SPS Programme’s key priorities. First, by supporting regional energy independence through hydrogen valleys, Ukraine is reducing its reliance on non-renewable energy sources, which enhances the #EnergySecurity ⚡ of both Ukraine and its NATO partners 🤝. This is a vital element of regional stability. Second, hydrogen energy projects are integral to Ukraine’s post-conflict economic recovery 🏗️. Investing in sustainable infrastructure is key to rebuilding the economy and ensuring long-term peace and security.
