🌍 We’re excited to share that we recently held a Training of Trainers (ToT) for 20 Community Health Entrepreneurs (CHEs) in Bugiri and 19 CHEs in Iganga, focusing on Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) using the engaging social behavior change game, “Rosie’s World”! 🎉 This initiative, in partnership with WASH United, helps break down myths about menstruation and empowers CHEs to educate young girls in schools, creating a positive ripple effect. Menstrual hygiene is a key focus for Healthy Entrepreneurs, and we are dedicated to supporting sustainable impact in this vital area. Join us in this important movement! Together, we can ensure every girl has access to the knowledge and resources she needs for healthy menstruation. 💪💖 #MenstrualHygieneManagement #CommunityHealth #RosiesWorld #BreakingBarriers #HealthEducation #EmpowerGirls #WASHUnited

As part of our strategic efforts to ensure the sustainability of the Community Health Entrepreneurs Model (CHEM) and meet Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) care at the grassroots level, H.E Kenya continues to establish tangible networks and develop impactful health systems. For the past two week, our clinical team, in collaboration with Community Health Assistants (CHAs) and Community Health Entrepreneurs (CHEs), successfully implemented a system of meeting patients in Peer Support Groups (PSGs) at Ramula, Rachuonyo East Sub-County, Homa Bay County and Seme sub county in Kisumu County, These groups continue to empower clients with relevant health information and facilitate blood pressure and blood sugar checks, as well as patient reviews    Benefits to H.E Kenya: Creates a unified platform to access all CHEs and clients. Increases sales by reaching a larger population and promoting our products. Demonstrates how our medications are more cost-effective compared to local pharmacies.  Benefits to Ches: Strengthens the CHE's role and visibility within the community. Boosts CHE activity and profit margins. Enhances community recognition of the CHE's importance.  Benefits to Clients/Community: Access to free consultations with doctors. Eliminates transportation costs for doctor visits. Addresses personal health issues and initiates further investigations at the community level. This collaborative effort marks a significant step towards our shared goal with the respective counties of community health and well-being, forming a formidable working relationship with a common obligation to improve health outcomes. #HealthyEntrepreneurs #HealthcareCloseToYou

We are proud to have participated as a Silver Partner in the inaugural Lake Region Digital Health Conference in Kisumu County. Our CEO, Mr. Joost van Engen, presented as a panelist, unveiling our innovative e-dispensing digital Health solution, currently being implemented in partnership with Homabay & Kisumu County in Nyakach & Seme Sub-county. This solution is reshaping how we tackle Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), making it easier for clients to access both services and medications at the community level. Through our digital platform, we are enabling timely, affordable, and accessible healthcare for conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and more. Accompanying Mr. Joost was Rose, one of our Community Health Entrepreneurs, who is on the frontline of delivering these vital services. Their joint presentation emphasized how technology can empower communities to manage NCDs more effectively, bridging the gap between healthcare providers and those most in need. We’re excited to continue expanding this solution, driving better health outcomes in the region. Stay tuned for more on our journey! #DigitalHealth #HealthyEntrepreneurs #NCDs #Edispensing #HealthcareInnovation #LakeRegionConference2024

Clean hands are a fundamental defense against the spread of infections, illnesses, and harmful germs. Whether in hospitals, schools, or everyday interactions, practicing handwashing with soap contributes to better health outcomes and a safer world for everyone. As we move forward from recent global challenges, we must ask ourselves: Why are clean hands still important? The answer lies in our collective responsibility to safeguard public health, prevent infections, and promote well-being. Handwashing with soap is not just a personal hygiene practice; it is a crucial public health measure that can reduce the incidence of diseases significantly. In fact, proper hand hygiene can decrease the risk of diarrheal disease by up to 45% and pneumonia by 23% (UNICEF). As professionals and advocates for health, we must champion the message that clean hands save lives. Let’s commit to making handwashing a priority in our communities and workplaces. Together, we can foster a culture of hygiene that protects everyone and ensures a healthier future. Join us in spreading awareness about the importance of hand hygiene—because clean hands are essential for a healthier world! #GlobalHandWashingDay #CleanHands #PublicHealth #WorldHealthDay #HealthyEntrepreneurs #HealthcareCloseToYou

Discussing challenges and opportunities in Kenya's healthcare sector. Healthy Entrepreneurs, Founder Joost van Engen, is happy to be part of this Trade Mission in Nairobi and Kisumu. The latter will focus on the options for digital health care at the Lake Region Digital Health Conference. Amazing things are possible now to provide that proper access to basic, affordable and reliable healthcare for millions of people who still go without. It is great gaining new insights, teaming up again with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Kenya, and sharing findings and inspiration with partners, such as Dr Khizra Syed and Dr Gregory Ganda. #accesstohealthcare #telehealth #inclusivehealthcare #healthinnovation

This morning marked the start of the Life & Health Sciences Trade Mission in Nairobi and Kisumu! 🇳🇱🤝🇰🇪 Representatives from the Dutch government, together with the Embassy, joined Kenyan public and private sector leaders to discuss challenges and opportunities in Kenya’s healthcare sector. Vice Minister for Foreign Economic Relations, Ms. Yvette van Eechoud, opened the mission by saying: 'I have come from the Netherlands with a strong delegation of 18 companies and organizations, here for a 4-day program full of engagements with varied stakeholders in the health sector. This is proof of the Dutch commitment to fostering fruitful partnerships between our economies to jointly address healthcare challenges.' The mission aims to explore opportunities for the Dutch companies to enter the Kenyan market 🌍💼. The kick-off gave participants an overview of Kenya’s healthcare challenges and opportunities. Later this week, participants will attend the Lake Region Digital Health conference in Kisumu and visit healthcare organizations such as the PSI Digital Health Innovations Hub and Skills Meducation.
