Our ideal candidates will be hands-on architects with experience in designing and implementing large-scale data processing systems using distributed computing frameworks such as Apache Kafka, Apache Flink or Apache Spark. We recently had the pleasure of attending Manchester Digital’s annual Member Conference, where ethics in tech was the talking point of the day. It was inspiring to hear from prominent members of the Manchester tech community about how we can leverage technology to drive innovation and growth in a sustainable and ethical way. Naimuri, Code Computerlove, Fuzzy Labs, Auto Trader UK, GlobalLogic and The Carbon Literacy Project all shared fantastic insights throughout the day. Our associate director of AI, Isobel Daley, addressed the subject by presenting the results of her study on gender bias in text-based generative AI tools and suggesting ways to address the root cause of the issue.
