Supporting the Accelerated Capability Environment (ACE) remains a cornerstone of our work at Naimuri. Whether it’s supporting rapid innovation projects or continuing to help them evolve as long-term national capabilities, certain factors consistently make a significant difference: community, partnerships, innovation, agility, and a relentless focus on mission impact.
We’ve just published our latest ACE Annual Review covering the last financial year 2023-24. This year, our foreword is by Sam Ulyatt CEO, Crown Commercial Service. The Review highlights another year of diverse commissions we have delivered over FY23-24 across themes like Public Security, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Innovation, and Technology. It also highlights the importance of ACE's Vivace community and includes stories from a selection of them that show how our collective expertise continues to deliver mission impact for our clients and stakeholders. It is great to be part of organisations like Naimuri/QinetiQ who help support events like this across the UK. Thank you to Ella Cartwright-Terry from Recruit for Spouses for the insightful conversation and Ben Tucker/Aaron Clayton who were also part of the team on the day. #outreach #socialvalues

On 31st October, the Manchester Tech Festival AI track day will take place. As well as sponsoring the track day, we will also host the day and take part in a panel discussion. Sarah Pengelly, Data Scientist here at Naimuri will also be taking to the stage to explore the topic of Model Calibration: When Accuracy Doesn’t Matter. Calibration is a measure of how well the confidence scores produced by a model match its accuracy (a well calibrated model gives high confidence scores to correct predictions and low confidence scores to incorrect predictions, a badly calibrated model does the opposite). This talk gives a detailed look into this often forgotten metric and investigates when you should (and shouldn’t) care about it. It will cover a range of different methods that can be used to improve model calibration, their pros and cons, and how to implement them. For anyone interested in ways to measure model performance that go beyond accuracy, this talk will offer insight into all the different ways confidence scores can matter and what you can do to make them better. We look forward to seeing you on the 31st October! #ai #manchestertechfestival
