Sharing our progress with our Charity of the Year: UKHarvest 🏡 Earlier this year, we proudly chose UKHarvest as our Charity of the Year, and we're happy to share the progress we've made together. UKHarvest addresses food waste and food insecurity by collecting surplus perishable food from supermarkets, hotels, and wholesalers and redistributing it free of charge to charities and individuals across the UK. In the last year alone, UKHarvest redistributed 616 tonnes of food, providing sustenance to thousands. Our Harvest Heroes Drive is in full swing, aiming to collect 2 tonnes of ambient food, including: • Tinned food • Tea, coffee, and hot chocolate • Cereal and breakfast bars • Powdered, tinned, or UHT milk • Squash and juice drinks • Pasta and rice • Jars of readymade sauces • Crackers, biscuits, and crisps Since January, our community food hubs have been making a positive difference by helping UKHarvest deliver 6 tonnes to 16 A2Dominion community food hubs — supporting an average of 1,840 customers 👏 Dele Ryder, our Partnership and Fundraising Manager, said, “As summer draws to a close and autumn begins, it is fantastic to support UKHarvest’s Food Drive at A2Dominion. The communities and customers we serve should never go without food. Donations from staff will enable the community investment team to help UKHarvest distribute more food to our communities through local charities and resident groups. We've joined 75 other organisations in signing Homeless Link letter to the Chancellor, Rt Hon Rachel Reeves, calling for action the Autumn Budget. As things stand, nearly £1billion worth of funding is set to leave the homeless sector by April 2025, putting vital support services at risk.  This includes: • £548million Rough Sleeping Initiative (RSI) funding • £435million Rough Sleeping Accommodation Programme (RSAP) funding • £13million Night Shelter Transformation Fund (NSTF) funding The letter urges the Treasury to give the homelessness sector certainty in this month’s Budget through a one-year rollover of existing homelessness funding into 2025/26. Now more than ever, our focus is on strengthening customer-facing services and improving the quality of our homes. Over the next five years we plan to invest £612m into our existing homes. As outlined in our Annual Review 2024, last year, we improved our repair response times by five days, averaging 14 days to complete a repair.
