Join us for our upcoming Biodiversity Literacy for Travel and Tourism Workshops from mid- November to mid-December. ABTA is delivering five free workshops to members over a five-week period to help them develop their understanding and knowledge of the links between biodiversity and travel and tourism, and how they can incorporate these into their sustainability plans. Travel and tourism has great potential to support the protection and recovery of biodiversity, which is particularly important given that preserving nature and biodiversity is part of the solution to the climate and pollution crises. Members will learn how to incorporate activities into their sustainability plans that can protect nature, uplift local communities and regenerate destinations. Read more about the content of the workshops and how to register here https://lnkd.in/eD5PZBbv The course has been developed in collaboration with tourism experts Animondial and in line with The Manchester Metropolitan University’s (MMU) curriculum on biodiversity. #biodiversity #nature #tourism #travel

Decarbonisation in the travel and tourism sector is an urgent priority, which requires the right policy environment if further strides forward are to be made. In a new blog, ABTA outlines how progress can be achieved. Within it, we share ABTA’s view that decarbonisation in our sector must be accelerated, but that people do not want to be priced out of travelling as a result – and nor should they be.
