Carers Rights Day takes place on Thursday 21st November. It’s a national event at which unpaid carers are encouraged to learn about their rights, and we all work to ensure they get all the support they need. Across the week around Carers Rights Day (from Monday, the 18th, to Saturday, the 23rd). We are running Carer Information Fairs, focusing on carers’ rights. Our team will be joined by various Surrey charities and organisations, forming a supportive community to answer practical, financial, and legal questions about your caring role and offer general support, advice, and information. If you are a carer or a Surrey based company that would learn more about supporting people with caring responsibilities then we would very much like us join us. Please visit our Carers Rights Information Fair page for dates, times and Surrey locations: https://lnkd.in/dTJXsjrd #CarersRightsDay #CarersRightsDay2024 #SurreyCarers #SurreyCharity

Today, 10th October is World Mental Health Day. Caring for someone with mental health problems can be particularly challenging. Because mental health problems are not ‘seen’, and the support can be more emotional than practical, carers often don’t see themselves as carers. But they are, and Action for Carers Surrey can help. We have a new team of Mental Health Carer advisors whose role is to support carers who are looking after someone with poor mental health or substance issues. We regularly run events and support groups for carers to come along and meet our advisors for advice and support. If you are able unable to visit our hubs, we have two online groups in October. All sessions are free and confidential; please visit the links below for more information and to book. 💙Meet the Mental Health Carer Support Advisers at Leatherhead Fri, 11th October 2024, 12:00pm - 2:00pm Leatherhead Community Hub, Kingston Road, Leatherhead , Mole Valley, KT22 7PX https://lnkd.in/d22ZkPky 🧡NEW!
