  • In House Beautiful’s recent article, 4 British Interior Design Trends Americans Are Going to Be Obsessed with in 2025, ADAM Director Darren Price shares his thoughts on the resurgence of patterns in design. Darren notes, 'There was a period not so long ago where everything was slightly more stripped back, and I think maybe it’s a bit of a rebellion against that... People are a little bit bored of that overly familiar, plain background.' Read more about the British interior design trends set to take over in 2025 https://lnkd.in/eUQYrhcA

  • We are delighted to announce that ADAM Director Hugh Petter has won the 2025 Arthur Ross Award for Architecture from the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art (ICAA) based in New York. These awards celebrate the lifetime achievement of those who have dedicated their professional lives to preserving and advancing the classical tradition.   The jury praised Hugh’s commitment to community-building, housing solutions, and a masterful use of classicism. Hugh’s renowned work includes Nansledan, the Duchy of Cornwall’s landmark urban development, as well as significant restoration and public projects such as Grade I Listed Chettle House and the Levine Building at Trinity College, Oxford.   Hugh says: ‘I am deeply touched and very proud to be recognised in this important way, and I offer my wholehearted thanks to the jury of the Arthur Ross Awards. I am immensely grateful too to the talented and dedicated team around me at ADAM Architecture, and for their constant support and inspiration. We live in challenging times, and I believe passionately that the principles of traditional architecture and urbanism has much to teach us all about meeting the climate crisis in an intelligent way whilst building strong, integrated, healthy and happy communities in beautiful and enduring places.’      We congratulate Hugh on this well-deserved recognition and are incredibly proud of his achievement. • We are delighted to announce ADAM Director Darren Price is designing the first-ever architectural façade for WOW!house 2025, the annual interior design showcase set in the Design Avenue at Design Centre Chelsea Harbour on 3rd June-3rd July. Here is a sneak peek of the design drawing. Darren says, “WOW!house is a rare opportunity to create something that feels both enduring and of the moment. My philosophy is rooted in a deep respect for architectural tradition while embracing the needs of contemporary living. Classicism provides a framework - an enduring language of proportion, order, and beauty - but it is not static. It evolves, responding to context, materiality, and the way people live today.” Read more about the event and Darren’s design inspiration via the link https://lnkd.in/eCZT5hWy

  • At ADAM Architecture we have a deep appreciation of books. Within the practice many of us enjoy reading architectural history and learning about new and interesting work from others in our profession. Several of the directors have also published books, including Living Tradition by Hugh Petter (2023) and Sketchbooks by George Saumarez Smith (2021). To celebrate World Book Day, the directors of ADAM are sharing books that have shaped their own journeys in architecture. Whether you're an aspiring architect or simply fascinated by the built environment, these recommendations offer valuable insights, inspiration, and guidance for your own exploration of architecture. • We are thrilled to announce that we have been shortlisted for this year’s Barkitecture competition at Goodwoof, judged by Kevin McCloud MBE. We are in the exciting process of designing our kennel to reflect this year’s theme, From Nature; For Nature. The 2025 theme celebrates three key ideas: the strong bond between dogs and the natural world we share with them; the unique ways their personalities shape how they experience and interpret that world; and, in turn, the appreciation and love for nature that they inspire in us. Join us on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th May to see our unique kennel design and take part in The Bonhams Barkitecture Auction on Sunday. Every bid supports the Wild at Heart Foundation, Goodwoof’s charity partner for 2025. Find out more and buy tickets via the link https://lnkd.in/eSpxbeF6
