About us

PLP Architecture is a London-based group of architects, designers and thinkers who value the transformative role of ideas and the capacity for architecture to inspire. Although we draw from a rich history and experience of working together on projects around the world, we have a culture of a young start-up. We value innovation and creativity as we strive to test limits. We produce intelligent, exciting and groundbreaking designs through a continual commitment to social, economic and environmental ideals. The office shuns preconceptions, fixed architectural styles or methods, allowing each project to become a unique opportunity to research, analyze and creatively respond to the brief, site and context. The foundation of our work lies in a commitment to the quality of life in the city, a delight in the handling of material, space and light and an optimism about architecture’s potential to enrich our society. We have a global presence, with permanent studios in London, Tokyo and Singapore. PLP Architecture is also supported by our research and innovation group, PLP Labs. • What is the secret to the enduring appeal of Art Deco? Featured today in The Telegraph's The London Magazine, Lee Polisano speaks to Zoe Dare Hall about the design style experiencing a revival, a century on. Polisano comments “Art Deco captures the optimism and energy of a transformative era, blending artistic expression with functionality in a way that still feels modern.” At our 60 Curzon project, we set out to reimagine Art Deco for today, blending its signature geometric precision, rich materiality, and meticulous craftsmanship with modern luxury living. Inspired by Mayfair’s architectural heritage, the building features handcrafted Portland Stone facades, bespoke bronze details and private landscaped spaces designed for a new era of refined living. • Last year, we were commissioned by the Ascension Island Government to tackle their housing quality, longevity challenges and resolve how to futureproof any new builds. Our strategy provides a sustainable roadmap to enhance the island’s mixed housing stock - ranging from the 1800s to the 1990s - while addressing the island’s unique climate and logistical challenges. Our recommendations focus on: ✔ Sustainable, low-maintenance materials like hemp blocks, Accoya timber, and RHEINZINK roofing to combat corrosion and extreme weather. ✔ Improved building design for better ventilation, flood resilience, and comfort in both Georgetown and Two Boats. ✔ A phased approach to refurbishment and redevelopment, balancing logistics with environmental impact. ✔ By prioritizing durability, efficiency, and sustainability, our strategy ensures high-quality housing that meets the needs of the island’s workforce and stands the test of time. • At our 65 Davies Street project in Mayfair, we have integrated heritage elements with the demands of a modern urban workplace. By blending art, nature, and sustainability with traditional materials, the building creates a narrative that bridges the past and the future. 🎨 On the western façade, a striking public art installation, ‘Anatomy of Time’ by Clare Twomey features local ancient plants and traces the path of the River Tyburn. 🌿 On the southern façade, a lush green trellis featuring wildflowers, enhances biodiversity and supports pollinators - bringing nature to the heart of the design. 🏗️ The building reflects the area's history with terracotta facades, intricate detailing, and fine craftsmanship, blending seamlessly into its surroundings. Full-height windows combine transparency and structure, whilst bringing in abundant natural light.
