This is why Aerovolt partnered with Skyfly Technologies Ltd a few months ago. We're involved in everyday aviation in a number of ways as well as with lots and lots of airports in the UK and now the USA. In fact Aerovolt also owns a small flying club at Goodwood Aerodrome where we actually test our SQUADRON software in the real world with real pilots. Skyfly Technologies Ltd were with Aerovolt at the The Royal International Air Tattoo this year. We knew Michael Thompson was the real deal and they have demonstrated how just a small team with limited funding working in a shed can outperform many global aviation startups with massive funding, pushing their eVTOL concepts (not mentioning the company named after a popular flowering bulb), spending money on flash renders and exaggerated conference fluff. You have to just get into the real world, get flying and get it done.
We're thrilled to announce that Skyfly's 2-seat eVTOL, the Axe, has completed its first crewed hover flight! With CEO Michael Thompson as the pilot, the Axe took to the skies after extensive ground testing, marking a significant step in our journey. The Axe is capable of both vertical takeoff and conventional runway landings. Both flight profiles have been approved by the UK Civil Aviation Authority. Stay tuned for more updates and footage of our flight tests! ✈️ Press release linked below! #eVTOL #aviation #innovation #Skyfly #sustainableaviation #futureofflight
