I am happy to have been able to collaborate with our partners Association for Black and Minority Ethnic Engineers (AFBE-UK) and the The University of Sheffield for a Career Transition Event at our Ansys Sheffield Office today! Thanks to our wonderful inspirational speakers Bridget Ogwezi and Abeer Fatima! We ran a career Workshop and Training interview sessions to help students develop the core skills to successfully transition to the workforce.

It was an enriching opportunity, getting guidance and mentorship from a team that is famous for building more than 17,200 miles (27,700 km) of roadway, 390 power plants, 50 hydroelectric plants, as well as 20 towns and cities globally. Thank you for making time to share about your experience, providing us with guidance, mentorship, and an opportunity to network and learn from people at Bechtel. Last but not least, it was an honor winning an award at the end of the day for being a well-rounded young person. Value from me to you: Keeping dreaming big, everything will work out the way it's supposed to.

Two weeks ago, I had the privilege of supporting another inspiring career transition event, hosted by Susan Grayson of Harbour Energy in partnership with Ikechukwu Onyegiri, PhD CEng MIMechE, from the Association for Black and Minority Ethnic Engineers (AFBE-UK). This event was special for so many reasons—exceptional organisation, thoughtfulness in every session, and the genuine warmth from both the Harbour Energy and Association for Black and Minority Ethnic Engineers (AFBE-UK) teams. What truly stood out was the diverse mix of talented students and graduates, all eager to learn and grow. One of the highlights for me was the group activities, where laughter flowed easily, thanks to the amazing assessors on my team—Ikechukwu Onyegiri, PhD CEng MIMechE, Sharon Bruce, and Kim Sabate. The energy in the room was contagious, and I left the event feeling truly inspired. To my surprise, Harbour Energy had more in store. Just yesterday, I received a thoughtful and unexpected gift, reminding me once again of their deep commitment to living out their values. Harbour Energy’s dedication to creating meaningful, human connections through their work has set a new bar for me. A heartfelt thank you to Mavis Anagboso, Mark Sanders MSc, CEng, FInstMC, Gatsbyd Forsyth de Barrera, Katie Bennington, Sharon Bruce, Kim Sabate, Rosie Bird, Emil Baigildin, Sylvia Mathews, and the entire Harbour Energy team. I’m looking forward to future career transition events as part of the AFBE-UK team, expertly led by Nikki Jønvik, and collaborating with organisations to promote DEI and drive meaningful impact.
