✨ Before the first race of the second half of the season, let's take a moment to reflect on the British GP. Growing up as a passionate F1 fan, watching all races on TV, I never imagined I'd have the chance to attend a race myself due to my background. Thanks to Mission 44, Driven By Us, and The Royal Academy of Engineering , I finally experienced my first race at the British GP. Not only that, I had the incredible opportunity to meet and get to know Lewis Hamilton in a more intimate setting alongside the rest of MSc Motorsport Scholars. Sitting at the same table as Lewis, I couldn’t help but reflect on the moment 13 years ago when I watched him make history as the first Black F1 driver, a moment that inspired me to pursue my own dreams in motorsport. Today, with a signed F1 contract with Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team and Mercedes-AMG High Performance Powertrains , and as I near the completion of my MSc degree, I am filled with immense gratitude. None of this would have been possible without his tireless efforts to promote diversity and inclusion within motorsport, a journey thay now many organisations have joined. 💜This journey has been nothing short of extraordinary, and the British GP was a powerful reminder of how far I've come. It was a beautiful, emotional experience that I will carry with me always.

My Motorsport Journey: Lap 7: F1 Car Model - Excited to share that I’ve spent the last few weeks modelling an F1 car using Solidworks. Using blueprints, surfacing techniques, and a LOT of fillets (just to name a few features used) I’ve been able to bring this project to life. Huge thanks to Jan-Willem Zuyderduyn for his invaluable guidance and insights into what it takes to be a design engineer. With this newfound knowledge, I am more confident than ever in my journey towards becoming an engineer in motorsports. There’s still more to come! ✨One week since I have joined my dream team Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team, and it could not have started better!! During my first week, I was able to join the Stress Race Support Team during the race weekend, from FP1 to the finishing line of the race, with the victory coming home. Mixed feelings about the post-race, but we were still able to secure that first position with Lewis Hamilton. 💜The five year old daughter of African immigrants watching her first race is incredibly happy and proud. Thanks to everyone who has supported me so far in this journey. Round 6 of Global Karting League:UK for DBU Academy Drivers! Round 6 at Shennington saw Sienna, Nathan and Aaron participate from the DBU driver Academy. The narrow and technical nature of the track provided some great racing with a full grid. The first corner, the hairpin and over zealous driving also brought out the ambulance at least a couple of times on race day. Thankfully everyone was ok. For qualifying, Sienna dominated and finished a very respecatble 11th, noting the top 10 drivers were within half a second. Aaron and Nathan qualified 13th and 18th respectively. There was no time to set a good time for any of the drivers for the pre-final due to numerous incidents, hence the qualifying positions became the positions for the final. There was a lot of drama during lap 1, and Aaron was taken out in the first corner of the race, Sienna and Nathan were taken out at the second corner. Aaron managed to recover quickly and chased the pack, Sienna and Nathan followed and had multiple close battles during the race. The race was stopped due to an accident and the red flag was brought out. The final positions were awarded based on the position set in the previous lap prior to the red flag. Aaron managed to finish in 8th place in the end with Sienna and Nathan finishing 14th and 15th respectively. #Karting #Racing #Motorsport #SubstainableRacing #GKL #Electric

✨ Two weeks ago at Driven By Us we had the incredible opportunity to take seven female students from UXBRIDGE HIGH SCHOOL to experience the Formula E London 2024 Prix. 🏎️ 🔎The students got to explore the insights behing the Formula E series, from engaging STEM acitivities, to accessing the paddock with Motorsport UK's Girls on Track. 🤞🏽Some of the girls found a passion towards motorsport and engineering during the day that they did not identify before and are now seeing it as a possible career path. Watchout for the future generation of girls in motorsports!✨ Always a pleasure collaborating with UXBRIDGE HIGH SCHOOL, with the great Aqueel Morgan to bring unique experiences to public schools! #STEMeducation #EmpoweringFutureLeaders
