Air Aware Labs team never travels together! Because we obviously want to make it a competition... Our amazing intern Orlando Bell came up with this concept for a race from our co-working space on Euston Road to an accelerator meet-up in Bloomsbury. How very start-up! And of course we weren't simply racing for time. We were using AirTrack to compete on lowest pollution routes. Can you outpace pollution? - let's see! Follow us on instagram (AirAwareLabsHQ) to see the second half of the video and find out who won! William Hicks

For those working on air pollution, the impact of wood burning is not news. Some good story telling and graphics from Health and Environment Alliance (HEAL) that set this out https://lnkd.in/g6B9-D4F
A new study has revealed that daily death rates in London increase when the air is filled with pollution from wood burning 🪵🔥 Wood burning may be seen as being cosy and even climate-friendly, but it's a false solution for the climate crisis that harms our health. In Europe, wood burning is on the rise. The EU has classified the practice as a renewable energy source, and there is a widespread belief that burning wood is good for the climate. And yet, that couldn't be further from the truth. Wood burning results in harmful air pollution, which can lead to heart disease, lung cancer, asthma, strokes, and many other serious health impacts. 👉 Read more about the new study at https://lnkd.in/ew7gn9vk 👉 Visit our resources on wood burning and health: https://lnkd.in/ekA3pSFA

Interesting review…
From hysteria and trauma to air pollution, different ideas about the causes of mental health problems have emerged and then disappeared over time. Sarah Marks from Birkbeck, University of London tells us about an online timeline tracing 200 years of these theories. Learn more about how the timeline works, the insights we’ve learned from it so far and plans to expand its scope: https://lnkd.in/ebigpYkz

Most of us - 99% of humanity - breathe polluted air. Air pollution leads to an estimated 8 million premature deaths – including more than 700,000 children under five. Yet pollution is a silent killer that can be stopped. Investing in clean air saves lives, combats climate change, strengthens economies, builds fairer societies, and advances the #GlobalGoals. On International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies, let’s invest now so we can breathe easy knowing we are securing a healthier planet for all. 📷: UN NY Headquarters, 2023 (UN Photo/Eskinder Debebe)

🌡️Higher temperatures cause #AirPollution levels to spike, posing a greater threat to our health and the environment around us. Swift, collective action is needed to tackle this global challenge, reports the World Resources Institute 👇 https://bit.ly/47uue5M
