Agile Educational Infrastructure | Creating spaces to cultivate regenerative responses to the Climate Crisis since 2019.

About us

Since bursting into life at 2019's Architecture Fringe, the Anthropocene Architecture School has honed its craft of providing agile, disruptive, and activism-led cultivation of climate literacies in, beyond and adjacent to the Built Environment Sector. Over its 5-year history, the AAS’ has punched disproportionately high above its own weight - being entirely self-sustaining and not relying on long-term investment for resourcing, with impacts that are felt internationally - occasionally directly leading to the formation of other educational climate action groups, and has invited many educational, cultural, climate and community audiences to learn about the Just Transition opportunities in the buildings around us. The AAS has built its internationally-renowned reputation by catalysing and contributing to over 150 online and physical events - directly engaging over 7000 people, guest-lecturing at 23 institutions of higher education and schools of architecture across the U.K., mainland Europe and Turtle Island; participation in conferences, expos and festivals - from grassroots climate events to providing keynote presentation at European Sustainable Energy Week 2023 in Brussels; supporting climate, health, housing and fuel poverty campaigners, and featuring in architectural press and publications that cater to a wide audience - including Archinect, the Architects Journal, Crumble, Dezeen, -Ism, and the RIBA Journal. Recently, the AAS has been a co-creator of Retrofit Reimagined 2023, a keynote presenter during SEDA's Big Conversation series, and features in the recently published Pedagogies of Re-Use: The International School of Re-Construction, and The Organiser's Guide to Architectural Education.
