Loyalty's friendliest meetup The BIG Handshake (TBH) took place in Amsterdam last week, and this was a brilliant opportunity to lift the lid on the future of loyalty. With major brands such as Holland & Barrett, Central Co-op, Nike and IKEA taking to the stage alongside leading loyalty experts like Marigold, Antavo Loyalty Cloud, and Apadmi, there was a wealth of useful discussion. With only 11% of attendees believing their customer loyalty program fully engages customers, and more than 60% feeling like their offering could be doing a better job - there is clearly headway still to be made in the space. Day 2 at The BIG Handshake (TBH) 🤝today saw us explore loyalty trends, the science behind customer behaviour, the role data plays in engagement/retention, and much more! We heard from powerful speakers and brands such as: 💬 Zsuzsa Kecsmar at Antavo Loyalty Cloud on what customers and businesses want from their loyalty solution inc. gamification, customisation, family accounts and more 💬 Charlotte Castille at Central Co-op and Flora Leoni at Carrefour Italia on retailer's strategies of 'crunching numbers and winning hearts' e.g. taking analytics and translating that into real customer engagement 💬 Janno de Kluijver of Tango/Q8 on how they've stayed relevant and engaged with customers even in cases of self-service, and the importance of the right technical infrastructure to scale and support this Interestingly, today's attendee survey revealed that 72% would be comfortable using an AI agent of some kind - a step in the right direction for innovation! But when it comes to loyalty programmes, 45% said difficulty integrating new tech such as AI and gamification into their offering is their biggest challenge, and something that many organisations need to address.
