Progression can come in many forms, but for Michael, our Area Bodyshop Manager for Central Scotland, it all began when he left school at 16 and joined Arnold Clark. After working as a Bodyshop Administrator for a number of years, Michael began to take an interest in management roles and, at 23, he took a course which led him to shadowing assistant mangers, managers and covering other branches where needed. At 31, he received his first big promotion to Assistant Bodyshop Manager, before quickly progressing to become Bodyshop Manager of Bishopbriggs. We love how our employees embrace the Halloween spirit every year to raise money for great causes within the community. Our Marketing department baked up some boo-tiful bites for their Halloween bake-off and the team at ACVM have transformed their office into an interactive circus of horrors along with a variety of fundraising activities, all in aid of Maggie's Centres. For yet another year, our Kilbirnie Street head office dressed up in their spooktacular costumes and held a terror-ific bake sale in aid of the Beatson Cancer Charity, joined by our Ayr Peugeot, Ayr Kia, Group Trade and Rental Business Centre teams. Today, we are excited to launch our Arnold Clark Digital Careers Skills (AC/DC) framework and be one of the first businesses within the UK to be implementing SFIA version 9 on the SkillsTX (Skills Talent eXperience) platform to support our Digital department with their progression journeys. The Skills Framework for the Information Age (SFIA Foundation) is a global standard that defines the skills and competencies needed for professionals in the digital, data, and cyber fields. At Arnold Clark, SFIA will be used for a variety of purposes, including career development of staff with digital skills, recruitment and workforce planning. We provide life-long careers at Arnold Clark, and Neive, our Mercedes-Benz of Perth franchise lead and retention manager, is a perfect example of the many progression opportunities we offer. From starting as a product genius in 2019, Neive soon progressed into Sales as a product consultant in 2020, where she received the award for 'Best New Product Consultant’ at the Arnold Clark Recognition Awards 2022. Just a year later, through hard work and a can-do attitude, she earned her current role as franchise lead and retention manager at our Mercedes-Benz of Perth branch, working closely with four other sites in Dundee, Aberdeen, Grangemouth and Inverness. Receiving training through the management licence programme, regular Mercedes-Benz training and support from her managers, Neive is flourishing in her role. Neive said: ‘When I was promoted, I was absolutely ecstatic. Starting within our Digital Print Facility (DPF), Maria later became a Marketing Executive, then progressed to Senior Marketing Executive. At DPF, Maria worked with the Digital team as they managed the online system, which sparked an interest in transferring to the role of Product Owner – and she’s now a Product Manager in our Digital team!
