It’s been fantastic to bring together two of our West Midlands based partners in Birmingham City FC / Birmingham City FC Foundation and EXCELR8 Motorsport for the official launch of our Team VERTU racing livery for the 2025 British Touring Car Championship season. This took place during the latest round of the #VertuPrimarySchoolsCup, and it was excellent to see the reactions of more than 160 children to the new-look cars, which they helped to reveal. It was a brilliant way to involve a large community programme in the reveal, and celebrate young talent, to which all three businesses are proud to champion through various initiatives. Yesterday, we were delighted to join Yorkshire County Cricket Club for their Changing the Game conference at Headingley. It was a truly inspiring event that followed #InternationalWomensDay this weekend, hearing from phenomenal women in both sport and business. Each shared their incredible stories about the barriers they broke through and and the determination and self-belief it took to be where they are now. Excellent panels included Justina Williams, BTCC Team Owner of EXCELR8 Motorsport’s Team VERTU; Alex Fogal, EY Partner & UK Entrepreneurship Leader; Caitlin Beevers, Leeds Rhino Women Captain; Clare Gibson, Commercial Director at Sprit of Harrogate Ltd; Lauren Winfield Hill, professional cricketer, England & Captain for Yorkshire Women; Gill Spencer, first female president of Leeds Rhinos; Grace Hall, professional cricketer for Yorkshire Women; Jess Dooley, Growth and Sports Leadership Director at Deloitte UK. It was also great to hear about the Club’s future plans to grow their fan base, including the Women’s team. This growth will be supported by Vertu’s sponsorship of their digital broadcast channel on YouTube, which promises to bring even more exciting content to fans.
