  • 🥼🔬Earlier this month the The Babraham Institute hosted Schools' Day and welcomed more than 190 students to take part in experiments and bioinformatics analysis hosted by 19 of the Institute’s research groups and three Campus companies - Cancer Research Horizons, CREASALLIS and Xap Therapeutics. 💡This is such a valuable public engagement initiative to inspire the scientists of the future and we're really grateful to all those who shared their time and knowledge. 💬These testimonials from those involved highlight the benefits of Schools' Day and give a taste of the insights gained by the students: “We’re really pleased that Cancer Research Horizons was able to participate in School’s Day again this year. The students were able to carry out laboratory techniques that we use on a daily basis, giving them valuable insight into the life of a medicinal chemist, and hopefully inspiring them to pursue careers in STEM.” Katherine Hazel, Senior Scientist, Cancer Research Horizons “I want to be able to share my journey as a scientist. There are truly wonderful moments that can happen in research and to be part of a mission to improve the quality of patients’ life is the main motivation for why I am in the Cell & Gene therapies space. I want all the students to realise that they all have the potential to be a scientist regardless of age, gender, background etc. Failure does happen but it’s important for them to know it’s an important driver of success.” Khashayar Khoshrou, Senior Research Associate, Xap Therapeutics More 👇 https://ow.ly/3j8B50VfTr3
