About us

We are an independent design studio creating purposeful, emotion-driven work for innovative clients. We care about space – its impact on the people that use it, the quality of it, the ambition of it and the life of it. People’s wellbeing and happiness is important to us. We use evocative design to create transformative and inspiring spaces that celebrate connection and enhance the everyday lives of those that use them. We work across the UK and internationally for private clients, developers, agents and investors. Our clients are our co-creators and collaborators. There’s no cookie-cutter approach – our clients’ goals are our priority, not the imposition of any kind of look or style. Everything we do is specific, purposeful and full of meaning. We like to ask questions and listen carefully because only a deep understanding of our clients’ ambitions will lead to a successful project. We want to begin the journey as early on in the process as possible so we can identify opportunities, maximise value and help to define the vision. We’re always up for a challenge and never shy away from complexity. We believe that an inspiring and satisfying journey gets our clients, and us, to where we want to be. You could say we’ve got high standards and we're sticklers for the detail, but we never lose sight of the big picture. We believe in investing in quality over quantity and doing something right, the first time. Our approach is rich with creativity and craft but it’s effective and efficient too. Our robust systems and processes mean we don't waste time, money or resources. We are constantly strengthening our capabilities and always on the hunt for the latest insights, technologies and materials that will help make us, and our projects, look and perform even better. We care about the world we live in and we are sustainable in all the ways we should be. we design spaces that are attractive, desirable and promote wellbeing – spaces that withstand trends and endure.

Creating total transformative design. Better for people and planet. BCO London Committee Member

MIPIM...my thoughts. I had avoided MIPIM up until now as I imagined it as being stuck in a stag-do for a number of days with everyone dressed in matching blue suits and a gilet. It was a more palatable version of my fears and I actually bought a gilet along as a bit of a joke but ended up wearing it nearly every day as I was freezing to death most days. 🥶 Photo evidence attached. In reality it was a great week, lots of fun, a great way to meet so many new people and re-connect with industry friends in a nice tidy week. Thank you to my team at Basha-Franklin, Andy Simmonds and Alex Franklin for organising such great events and being fab wing-men for the week. A special shout out to Steve Randall and Andy Simmonds for finally convincing me to play Padel. Surprisingly it's actually quite good fun and my years of playing tennis at school came to good use - for once. 👍 Thanks to everyone who hosted me for their amazing events. Overbury, BW: Workplace Experts, General Demolition, Paul Hanegraaf and Marco Franchi. I had a blast! 2025 feels positive after this week. There is a sense of renewed momentum even though there is plenty to be fearful of. With that, ladies of the property industry, please show up and be a part of events like MIPIM. You'll be around for the many great opportunities that you shouldn't be missing out on.

International Women’s Day: Reflection, Action, and Progress As a female business founder, International Women’s Day is a time to reflect, celebrate, and take action. I am incredibly proud of the talented women at Basha-Franklin who drive our industry forward with skill, creativity, and resilience. I am equally proud of the men on our team and beyond who champion gender equity—not because they have to, but because they know talent has no gender. A Call to Action Progress requires commitment. Women must continue to support and mentor each other, fostering environments where talent thrives without barriers. As a society, we must challenge biases, advocate for equal opportunities, and build truly inclusive workplaces. The strides we’ve made must not be undone. Real change happens when businesses embed equity in their culture, men actively support diversity, and policies enable women—whether mothers, leaders, or entrepreneurs—to succeed on their own terms. Let’s not just celebrate progress; let’s drive it forward. Women in Business – The Facts Women now lead nearly one million UK businesses, making up 19.1% of all companies. They hold 43% of board roles and 35% of leadership positions in FTSE 350 firms. Gender-diverse teams are 70% more likely to capture new markets and make better decisions. Achieving gender parity in the workforce could add $28 trillion (26%) to annual global GDP by 2025 [McKinsey]. This benefits everyone—creating jobs, raising wages, and boosting financial stability. Beyond leadership, women hold immense purchasing power, influencing 70-80% of global consumer buying decisions [Forbes]. Women shape markets—because they understand what women want. Progress is Fragile While we celebrate achievements, we must also recognise that women’s rights remain under threat. In countries like Iran and Afghanistan, women face systemic oppression—barred from education, restricted in work, and denied basic freedoms. This is not just a women’s issue; it’s a human rights issue. Even in the West, progress is not guaranteed. We must remain vigilant, ensuring setbacks don’t undo hard-won gains—history has shown how easily progress unravels. Building Alliances for Lasting Change Men play a crucial role in advancing gender equity—not just as allies, but as advocates for a fairer, more inclusive world. Creating workplaces that empower women isn’t just right—it drives innovation, strengthens economies, and benefits society as a whole. On this International Women’s Day, let’s celebrate achievements while recognising the work still to be done. True progress happens when we move beyond words and take meaningful action—within our businesses, communities, and the world. #IWD2025 #WomenInBusiness #DiversityMatters #InclusiveLeadership #HumanRights #EqualityForAll
