Yesterday, Karen Martin joined an inspiring line up of speakers at the IPA (Institute of Practitioners in Advertising)'s Stepping into the Spotlight event to celebrate International Women's Day. Karen introduced Tabitha Morton, Executive Director of UN Women UK, whose mission to ensure every woman and girl has access to safety, a choice and a voice. Are we all sleepwalking into apathy? 😴 Yesterday, we hosted a session in partnership with The Marketing Society & Publicis Groupe UK to debate the rise of indifference, and how marketers can inject more zags into their brands to turn apathy into feeling. Thank you to the brilliant Sophie Devonshire⚡️ for steering such an interesting discussion on creative risk-taking, emotional provocation and how differentiation directly links to commercial success. Thanks also to the epic panel line up of our CEO Karen Martin and our client partners, Leah Spears, Head of Brand Strategy at Paddy Power and Katie Evans, CMO at BURGER KING UK, for talking about how we've worked together to create campaigns that genuinely make people feeling something. The session also featured the dream team that is Felipe Serradourada Guimaraes and Saskia Jones who introduced The Zig Index, our propriety tool and way of formalising cliches in a category so we can zag against them.
