CABLE-LAYING - POSSIBLE DISRUPTION AT QUEEN'S ISLAND Visitors to the Queen’s Road area of Belfast Harbour Estate are advised of cable-laying work being carried out by NIE from today until Tuesday, February 11th. This is taking place adjacent to Titanic Studios, and may result in some disruption to traffic.

As part of our commitment to being a port of choice for the region – and a leading port on these islands - we are investing £208 million in everything from refurbishing our facilities to a programme of digital transformation. The goal of this is to meet the changing needs of our much-valued customers and tenants, many of whom were in attendance at the recent launch of our new five-year Strategy, which included a panel discussion on many of the key aspects of the plan. An insightful visit for Belfast Harbour Chair Dr. Theresa Donaldson and members of our leadership team to Port of Cork Company Ltd. this week. This was a unique opportunity for knowledge sharing on the opportunities of renewable shore power, boosting cruise tourism and meeting the needs of our customers and communities. Further work is underway on our collaborative approach to supporting the clean energy ambitions of both jurisdictions through offshore wind. As we mark NI Apprenticeship Week, which celebrates the fantastic opportunities available across the region for would-be apprentices and employers alike, we catch up with one of our Apprentice Maintenance Technicians, Ruairi Daly, who has been putting his previous experience of working at sea to good use as part of our Operational Engineering team, under the guidance of his supervisor Robert Simpson. Belfast Harbour’s own apprenticeship scheme has been running for many years now, helping to open up pathways to those keen to follow a career within our engineering and operations teams.
