About us
We specialise in advising on employment law and helping clients resolve legal disputes through litigation, arbitration and mediation. We have extensive experience of managing business and personal legal disputes, and recognise the disruption, stress and expense they can cause. We help clients achieve a satisfactory and cost-efficient outcome, and pride ourselves on being commercial, practical and approachable. Our clients include multinationals, professional services firms, entrepreneurs, owner managed businesses and individuals, and we advise on matters as diverse as contractual disputes, negligence claims, shareholder disputes, fraud and defamation. We also advise both employees and employers on a wide range of employment law issues, including the terms of employment, service and consultancy agreements, disciplinary and capability issues, termination of employment (including redundancy), discrimination and post-termination obligations. Florence, Leigh, Alexandra, Pauline and Oliver handle all legal work themselves without delegating to less experienced lawyers. Clients always receive a responsive and attentive service from experienced specialists who know them and their business. T: +44 (0)20 3432 2110 E: hello@bellevuelaw.co.uk

Georgina Calvert-Lee provides a reminder that the new sexual harassment preventative duty has teeth, and there will be serious consequences for employers who fail to demonstrate they have taken reasonable steps to protect their employees from sexual harassment. If you’re concerned about the new duty and want to understand it better, our team of experienced employment lawyers are well placed to give you tailored advice for your business, ensuring that you’re doing more than ‘ticking the boxes’ of the new duty. #SexualHarassmentAtWork #WorkerProtectionAct2023 #EmploymentLaw #EmployerGuidance

With the changes to the New Worker Protection Act now in force, it’s important that employers conduct tailored risk assessments to ensure they’re meeting the requirements of the new sexual harassment preventative duty. Here, Florence gives an insight into the other practical things employers should be doing to ensure they’re not just ‘ticking boxes’. Of course, just how that looks will be different for each business, depending on the size of the organisation, its history and the work it conducts. However, this new duty must be taken seriously, and employers are well advised to act now. #SexualHarrasmentAtWork #NewWorkerProtectionAct2023 #SexualHarrasment #EmploymentLaw

Calling all law firm employers: are you prepared for the impending legislative changes surrounding workplace sexual harassment? From 26 October 2024, the Worker Protection (Amendment of Equality Act 2010) Act 2023 imposes an obligation on employers to take proactive steps to prevent sexual harassment in the workplace. With the SRA reporting a significant increase in complaints of sexual misconduct in recent years, this new duty has particular significance for law firms and solicitors: the regulator has made it clear that it considers workplace culture and non-financial misconduct to fall within its remit, and requires law firm partners to challenge unfair or disrespectful behaviour. In our latest blog post for law firm employers, we explain what the new preventative duty means, what your firm must do to be compliant with the new law, and how Bellevue Law can help you prepare. #EmploymentLaw #SexualHarassment #WorkerProtectionAct #BellevueLaw
