A great looking scheme with an excellent design and delivery team, Betton Consulting are delighted to be providing M&E consultant and BREEAM assessor roles for this project.

We are delighted to see the recent completion of a new 68-bed care home in Margate, following a development loan we facilitated in December 2023. Set over three-storeys, the home is in an excellent location, situated next to Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother Hospital. The home offers residential, dementia, nursing and respite care. Each resident has their own private ensuite wet room, plus access to a number of terraced areas with views over the immaculately landscaped gardens. Residents will also benefit from enclosed ‘quiet’ lounges located on the upper ground and first floors and their own hair and nail salon.     The home has recently received Care Quality Commission registration and will be open to residents shortly. Victoria House is a Locally Listed heritage asset that Harris Irwin Architects have had the pleasure of working on for Perseus Land & Developments Limited. Retaining the existing facade whilst incorporating an appropriately scaled extension has allowed new life to be brought to this iconic site. Due to the heritage aspect of this scheme, merging old with new, the level of detailed analysis and design evolution was extensive. Please see some of the design process below. Bullseye for Perseus and Barwood with Shooters Hill scheme. Perseus Land & Developments, working in partnership with Barwood Capital's Barwood Regional Property Growth Fund V, are delighted to announce that Royal Borough of Greenwich resolved unanimously to grant planning permission for their 70-bed care home scheme at Shooters Hill on Tuesday evening. Perseus's Managing Director, Duncan Ford, said "It was refreshing to see the tilted balance in planning properly applied here, with Council Officers and Members recognising that the enormous shortfall of ensuite care home bed spaces locally should rightly outweigh other planning considerations. We look forward to seeing the delivery of the borough’s first care home in over a decade”. Perseus & Barwood Capital complete the successful sale of their 1.57 acre consented care home site in Ringmead, Bracknell to Oakland Care & Elevation Advisors who will build out and operate the new 72 bed facility.   Andrew Barlow, Head of Fund Management, Barwood Capital, said: “Our exciting partnership with Perseus is enabling best-in-class accommodation for older people at a time when the market is starved of supply. We expect the care home and senior living sector to continue to expand as the market matures and the UK’s older population increases over the coming years.
