🌱 It's organic September🌱 And, good news! Our '100% Organic Flowers' bouquet (certified organic by Soil Association) is around throughout September, for the last few weeks we have left of summer. Growing flowers organically comes with many challenges. Like managing soil fertility, and controlling weeds, pests and disease without synthetic fertilisers or crop protection products. And that's why we are super proud that these blooms have been lovingly grown and hand-harvested on the organic Pool Hullock Farm in Hereford, without chemicals, pesticides, heated greenhouses, or air miles. Sibbe Krol, our Director of Sustainability says: "Our organic growers really work together with nature. By rotating crops, growing a very diverse mix of flowers and other plants, and anticipating the seasons they manage to create a biodiverse system where natural processes and endemic insects help to protect the flowers and make them thrive. Here's what they've been up to: ☕ "I'm finally meeting a friend for a long overdue coffee - we’ve not caught up since 2018 😌" 🍾 "My best friend has just bought her first flat so I'm going with her to pick up the keys, set up an indoor picnic and have some champagne on the floor" 🎾 "I’m playing tennis today. I’ll most likely be beaten by my daughter 😬 " 🌈 "I'm travelling down to Brighton for Pride this weekend" 🏊♀️ "I'm going for an open water dip in the West Reservoir in Hackney" ⛺ "We are going to beat the traffic as we're camping in the New Forest this weekend" ☀ "I've got a reformer pilates class and then a picnic in the park" 🚲 "I used my longer weekend to do a bit of bike-packing along the South Downs Way"

We’re big fans of sending a gift as a way to care wildly. The positive vibes are two-way too. Several studies have shown that spending money on someone else promotes happiness. We call that a win-win. But what else do we feel — and do — when it comes to gifting? How many of us buy something for someone because we feel we have to? Who’s the most likely to spend more on presents, men or women? Are we a nation of gift recipients too polite to say how we really feel when we undo that wrapping? Which region is the most likely to look for a deal when they buy a gift? And do people prefer to say “congratulations” with a box of chocolates or something a little more alcoholic? Back in May we shared that we were partnering with The Female Company GmbH in Germany on two special edition bundles for Mother's Day - featuring our beautiful Sunniva and Jo bouquets along with premium greeting cards specially designed by The Female Company. Every purchase donated to our charity partner Deutscher Frauenring e.V., a charity that works on the realisation of women's rights, equal opportunities and the equal recognition of women. And we're thrilled to have raised €1,000 with the support of our wonderful customers!

We all need a bit a me time. Even when we're in the office. And so we opened our wellbeing rooms in our London, Amsterdam, Nuneaton and Amstelveen locations. Because we want to make sure that every member of our team can come to work and know they are appreciated and supported. These rooms are designed to aid a moment of calm and privacy. Whether that's for breastfeeding. For prayer. To have a breather before a big presentation. Or to take a personal call. Our team can close the door and take all the time they need.

We recently hosted our summer party to celebrate everyone's hard work (and the sun finally showing up). Our summer event is a moment to connect face-to-face for our team and it was wonderful to celebrate all together. Thank you for having us 100 Barrington! And an extra special thanks to our People Experience team and everyone on the event committee for creating a beautiful evening, full of sunshine, laughter and good vibes. We’re looking forward to our winter event already!

Welcome back to our 100% certified organic bouquet! It's here all summer long too. Each stem in The 100% Organic Flowers is lovingly grown and hand-harvested on the organic Pool Hullock Farm in Hereford without chemicals, pesticides, heated greenhouses, or air miles and certified organic by The Soil Association. Just like nature, each bunch is unique. Because we pick the stems that are looking their best in the field that week. And even better, when you send our 100% Organic Flowers to someone (or yourself!), we'll donate £1 to Rewilding Britain – helping rewilding flourish across the country. Because more nature is good for all of us.

Friday afternoons off, anyone? Last year we trialed summer Fridays. And, as you'd expect, they were a big hit. And so they're back from today! Throughout July and August our team will finish their workday at 1pm on Friday. So they can spend more time with their family. Relax in front of the tv. Or simply just get their washing done so they can free up the weekend for fun things. However they want to spend it to recharge and do things that support their wellbeing, after a busy peak period 🌻 But our amazing operational teams will be enjoying summer hours at different times during the week. June was Pride month. Want to know how we celebrated? With the help of our amazing customers, we raised over £2,800 for LGBT Foundation - one of our year round charity partners. Not only did The Joy bouquet donate, throughout June, to LGBT Foundation to directly support the charity’s helpline. But we’ve seen lots of you sending literal joy to your loved ones with these blooms. Team Bloom & Wild also pulled together to donate summer health packs to The Outside Project LGBTIQ+ Community Centre and Shelter - a charity local to Bloom & Wild HQ. The health packs will be donated for The Outside Project to distribute to their members and community to make sure they have the essentials they need to support them through the summer months.
