Our East London Energy heat network has been keeping the athletes warm since 2012, providing low carbon heat to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and surrounding areas. The network connects over 5,000 homes and 39 commercial buildings, showcasing our ‘track record’ to sustainable energy solutions for the future of East London. According to the Climate Change Committee (CCC), one fifth of all building heat demand should come from heat networks to achieve net zero. Right now, these networks only supply 2% of the UK's heat. The 2024 CCC Progress Report to Parliament is urging the government to speed up the adoption of low-carbon heat networks.
