  • 👋 Meet Philip Jones... 💻Philip wanted a change of career and chose the Digital Marketing, Advertising & Communications Higher Level Apprenticeship, completing it in January 2024.💻 📊According to Philip, the best part of doing the HLA was learning while he was working. The most interesting things that he has learned are the various models a marketer can use to help them figure out brand identity, tone of voice and the values of a business at an early stage, as well as helping craft campaigns. Philip would say that the SOSTAC model has been a useful tool for him in his coursework and on-the-job training. 📚Overall, he found the course content to be valuable, and has helped him change his career. Throughout the course Philip spent his time with 2 employers; one in professional services, and the other in manufacturing, exposing him to a range of environments. The course provided him with the skills needed to secure a Marketing Officer role with the Northern Ireland Blood Transfusion Service, and Philip can see the theory he has learnt in action here, and enjoys the creative nature of the industry and constant learnings available. 💬He would advise anyone considering an apprenticeship to put themselves out there and learn everything they can through working and off-the-job training in college. Once they start the course, they should take every opportunity, whether that is attending conferences, watching webinars or listening to podcasts to better their understanding of their field. 🌟The words he would use to describe his HLA journey are ‘new career’, ‘debt free’ and ‘happy’. He enjoyed it and would say it is a very worthwhile programme. ❓If you would like to find out more about recruiting Digital Marketing, Advertising & Communications HLAs to your business, email us at hla@src.ac.uk
