🚏 Calling all those who appreciate high-quality #PublicTransport infrastructure... The Campaign for Better Transport wants to know your best #Bus stop; where they have clear timetables on display, live information screens, and they're comfortable and well-maintained. These examples will help to build a #Campaign for better bus stop information across the national network. We're a little biased and think these examples are great, here's the link to submit yours: https://lnkd.in/efuEXxkt

📰Quoted! 'If you compare the rail network as it exists today between the South East and the North, it is ridiculous what people in the North are expected to contend with in terms of connectivity.' We spoke to The Independent about the Government's decision to scrap the Restoring Your Railways Fund which aimed to expand the rail network by re-opening stations closed by the 1960s Beeching Cuts👇 https://lnkd.in/d7HwmJcM

We're looking for examples of brilliant bus stops: ones with clear information on display, which are comfy and well-maintained. If they have an added extra (like a great view or a 'green roof') we'd love to hear about that too. Help us prepare a campaign for #BetterBusStops by sharing your favourite example in the comments or via our webform: https://lnkd.in/efuEXxkt

Congratulations to Laura Shoaf, CBE on her appointment as the new Chair of Shadow Great British Railways. In February, Laura was kind enough to deliver the keynote speech at our 50th Anniversary Gala Dinner. Laura is fierce advocate for public transport and has paved the way for many of the regulatory and legislative changes from which passengers are now benefitting. We wish her all the best in her new role!

'We hope the Government sees this scheme for what it is: unaffordable and nonsensical.' On Friday, the Transport Secretary will decide the fate of the £9bn Lower Thames Crossing. Will she move fast, fix things and do the right thing? Our latest blog 👇 https://lnkd.in/exAU3Esi
It's time to leave nonsensical road building in the past

This is what we're calling for in our international rail campaign. Track access charges in the UK are three times higher than in Europe and the cost is passed directly onto passengers, making international rail travel unaffordable to many. To compete with air travel, lowering track charges is an essential first step. Our campaign: https://lnkd.in/ejbcyMip
We're proposing lower charges for passenger trains which use the High Speed 1 line from London St Pancras to the Channel Tunnel, and halving charges to freight. This is part of our detailed review of HS1 Ltd's spending plans in our draft determination. Details ➡ https://lnkd.in/esDApda4
