Hot off the press! CapitalRise CEO, Uma Rajah, shares her insights in Property Week on the strength of the prime housing market and the wider economic benefits of funding development projects. Tailored funding solutions are essential to the continued health of the prime property sector. At CapitalRise, we believe that alternative lenders play a crucial role in driving this vital part of the UK economy – especially as many traditional banks have stepped back due to regulatory changes following the global financial crisis. To date, CapitalRise has lent against more than £1bn worth of prime property assets across London and the South East. Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/ee33gkKP

Last month, our very own Jasmine Dinnage and Julia Sinclair braved some typical British weather, with a mix of rain and sunshine, to volunteer at West Horsley Place with our partners, The Tree Council. Alongside other volunteers from NFU Mutual, Network Rail and Avison Young, they helped weed and mulch an incredible 223 metres of hedgerow, supporting the growth of 1,100 young trees. The Tree Council’s mission is to unite people in caring for trees and our planet – a mission that CapitalRise is proud to support.

We’re excited to share that CapitalRise's CEO, Uma Rajah, was recently invited by Viviane Paxinos, CEO of AllBright, to their exclusive event at the House of Commons. The event marked a significant milestone as AllBright celebrated its acquisition of everywoman, a global leader in driving gender diversity in the workplace for the past 25 years. It was an afternoon filled with inspiring discussions on creating a world where every woman can thrive in the workplace. The event highlighted how AllBright and everywoman will continue their shared mission of empowering women, expanding their impact across the globe. As a female-led property finance company, this is certainly a vision that CapitalRise shares.

Earlier this week, our CEO Uma Rajah had the honour of speaking at the Forever Forward event, organised by FFinc (formerly WHN) – an incredible network focused on breaking barriers and creating opportunities for women, businesses, and communities to thrive. As proud partners of FFinc (formerly WHN), we fully support their mission and are inspired by the conversations sparked at the event. Uma shared her founder's journey and insights on the importance of education at a younger age to encourage more girls into STEM subjects. With only 27% of STEM graduates being female, Uma stressed that early intervention is crucial to addressing the gender gap in these fields, ultimately helping to improve female representation in STEM careers. It was great to hear from other inspirational women including Chamiah Dewey, Sam Cooper-Gray and Victoria Symons. A special thanks to Tamara Gillan, who leads this amazing network and for creating such a vibrant network for connection, learning, and empowerment. We very much look forward to the year ahead of us with FFinc (formerly WHN) as partners.

Last week, Katy Katani and Imogen Williams hosted a vineyard trip to Gusbourne Estate, bringing together clients and key players in the property finance industry for an unforgettable wine tasting experience. It was a great opportunity to strengthen our relationships within the property finance world while learning something new. A huge shoutout to Elizabeth Hawthornthwaite for her expert knowledge and warm hospitality – your passion for wine truly enhanced the day! We look forward to hosting more events like this in the future.
