Developing Cumbria's Leaders for Today and Tomorrow.
About us
At Centre for Leadership Performance we collaborate with businesses to support and develop their teams into the high quality leaders that Cumbria needs to succeed and compete effectively in regional, UK and worldwide markets. Bespoke leadership consultancy for individual companies: The expertise of our core team and our network of trainers, facilitators and leadership experts means that we can respond to client needs and create flexible programmes, events and approaches to tackle specific needs. Open programmes such as Leader to Leader: A well established multi-modular open leadership development programme aimed at executives and senior leaders. The programme brings existing managers and leaders together to learn from each other, share best practice and work through the 4 main elements of the programme: shadowing, action learning, thought Leadership and working on a consultancy challenge and ultimately create a network of skilled and inspired leaders. Shadowing Opportunities: To learn from each other, share best practice and ideas and create support networks and forge on-going relationships. These have grown out of our Leader 2 Leader programmes following participant feedback on the significant value of this element. Young Leaders Programmes: We work with young people in Cumbria to encourage aspiration and their ambition for leadership roles, through our Dream Placement, Bright Stars programmes and other opportunities that we develop at different key stage levels. We collaborate with many partners across Cumbria, and help the younger generation aspire to reach their potential as future leaders, and existing leaders to be the best they can be.

Yesterday, I attended the Cohort 18 Leader 2 Leader Celebration Event at Moresby Hall, and it took me right back!! Leader 2 Leader was actually the first programme I attended when I started at Centre for Leadership Performance Cumbria about 3 and a half years ago, back when it was Cohort 12!! I always love these events. It’s amazing to see how much the delegates have grown with the programme and hear first-hand how it has impacted them. A huge well done to all the delegates! It was great to meet everyone! Yesterday marked the conclusion of our 18th Leader 2 Leader programme, with our celebration event at Moresby Hall. Our delegates were joined by their sponsors to share a presentation about their amazing consultancy challenge on how they intend to improve the culture of communication in their workplaces. We also reflected on the last ten months of learning and the group made some commitments around continuing their learning journey. I'm so proud of them all, and excited to see what happens next! If you'd like to find out more about how our Leader 2 Leader programme can help you develop your leadership skills, please get in touch - I'd be delighted to tell you more about it. 75% of HR leaders say their managers are overwhelmed. But only 36% believe their own leadership programmes are actually preparing them for the future. The result? Burnout, disengaged teams, and high turnover. Your managers don’t need another generic training programme. They need a support network that helps them navigate today’s challenges. That’s exactly what our First Line Manager Programme delivers. We bring together managers from different industries and sectors to share experiences, develop leadership skills, and gain practical solutions they can use immediately. Get in touch to give your managers the support they need. Gartner Report : https://lnkd.in/gxJQNW2 #LeadershipDevelopment #FirstLineManagers #HR #PeerLearning #Training

The latest Positive Enterprise workshop was all about two essentials for any business: marketing and time management. We explored practical strategies to promote our work effectively while staying on top of our time and priorities (a skill every entrepreneur needs)! A huge highlight was the power of peer support. Connecting with others on the same journey makes all the difference, and hearing from our brilliant mentors Georgina Goulding, BEng(Hons), and Laurie Crayston was a real boost. Their insights reminded us that every challenge is just another step toward success. Plus, Georgina’s sweet treat was the icing on the cake! 🍰 Plenty of ideas, plenty of motivation—now time to put it all into action! #CumbrianBusiness #Entrepreneurship #YoungEntrepreneurs #PositiveEnterprise #LeadershipDevelopment Positive Enterprise was created by Cumbria Community Foundation in partnership with the Centre for Leadership Performance Cumbria, and funded in part by the Sellafield Ltd SiX Social Impact Multiplied programme.
