📢 Fair public procurement opportunities for Chartered Architectural Technologists CIAT is advocating for fairer public sector procurement processes to ensure all competent professionals, regardless of title, can tender for work on a level playing field. We know some Chartered Architectural Technologists have been excluded from tendering due to title-based restrictions, limiting competition and opportunities. To understand the extent of this issue, CIAT is conducting a public sector procurement survey. The RICS External Wall Systems (EWS) Assessment Training Programme is now open for enrolment. 💼 This Ofqual Level 6 qualification is designed to equip built environment professionals with the skills to conduct Fire Risk Appraisals of External Walls (FRAEWs) and complete EWS1 forms for low-rise, low to medium risk buildings. 📅 Upcoming cohorts: 29 January | 3 June: https://lnkd.in/eYhAMbpZ

Next up.... ⭐ Lauren Winfield MCIAT - CIAT Western Region aspiration Co-Chair ⭐ Lauren earned her BSc in Architectural Technology and Design from UWE Bristol, where she worked on projects like the RNLI pod, integrating design, site analysis, and construction sequencing. Her report on energy management pushed her out of her comfort zone, teaching her valuable lessons in refurbishment and sustainable improvements. A career highlight for Lauren was her work on the General Intensive Care Unit at Southampton General Hospital. Delivering this complex project on a constrained site during a global pandemic solidified her passion for healthcare design and shaped her approach to delivering impactful projects in the industry. Professionally, Lauren has gained experience across renowned firms like Acanthus Clews Architects Limited and Stride Treglown. Her commitment to mentoring and inspiring the next generation through aspiration is equally impressive. Lauren’s advice? Dive into every opportunity—networking, committee work, and social events. The more you invest, the more you grow! And remember: the skills you develop in AT can take you places you’d never expect.
