Free CPD Event in Manchester City Centre (6 pm on Thursday) Apologies for the short notice, but ahead of this Thursday’s CIAT North West Region Committee Meeting I'll be chairing (March 20) we will be having a short CPD event from our hosts, Komfort Partitioning with Priti Gadani. Based on their ‘Aligning the Specification Cycle with Komfort’s Best Practise Approach’ this will a 20 minute presentation followed by discussion with food and refreshments provided. Komfort in the development of this have: * Adopted and Adapted specification to Industry Style (support digitally) * Use NBS Chorus to capture the best practise approach to support the Building Safety Act / Building Regulations * Applied the Golden Thread Ethos across all the RIBA Stage procurements via NBS Chorus This will be followed by the Regional Committee Meeting which you would be welcome to stay for (no obligations to be signed up as a Committee Member at the end, though that offer is there too). The first of a planned series of lunchtime talks at the University of Salford will run at noon on Tuesday the 11th of February. This 90 minute session with Questions & Answers to follow will feature Chris Jones and James Pass of E3 Cube Ltd and Alex Rhodes of Tarkett exploring the topic of Inclusive Design & Neuro-Accessible Considerations. It will including projects like the Caudwell International Children's Centre operated by the Caudwell Children which 'exists to make life fair for disabled and autistic children' pictured below where James had a lead design role, as well as exploring the Virtual Reality programming Tarkett have developed to allow customers to better understand how neurodivergent conditions can impact on the experience of spaces and materials.
