As part of #UNCitiesDay yesterday, we celebrated local initiatives in various cities that are encouraging citizens to embrace circular thinking. One incredible community initiative in London helping people be more sustainable is Library of Things. Earlier this year, Co-Founder of Library of Things Rebecca Trevalyan explained what the company has taught her about how and why people change their behaviour. Reducing waste, enhancing education and eating more veggies 🥦🥒🥕 In the this exclusive clip for #UNCitiesDay, Pearl Costello explains how Synnwyr Bwyd Cymru / Food Sense Wales is collaborating with organic producers to help supply fresh vegetables in school meals. This initiative is not only encouraging kids to encourage them to eat more vegetables, but helping to protect the environment.

This #UNCitiesDay we’ve spoken to local initiatives in various cities about how their community-led initiatives are helping embrace circular thinking. Cardiff Rivers Group (Dave King MBE MSc FCMA) have over 800 volunteers keeping their waterways clear, and have found lots of the items found discarded in rivers are too good to throw away and could benefit community groups or those in need, inevitably leading them to a more circular business model.
