It has been a while since I have run this series of posts but as we head towards the end of the year it feels like a good time to reflect on what we have achieved here at Clarkebond. 1.0 This week I’m taking a look back at some of this years significant projects. As engineers we often see our involvement in a project end early on in the construction process, with the speed of the programme on this one we have been heavily involved on site to get the project to where it currently is. The first one of these is the new Dartmoor Building being constructed for University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust at Derriford Hospital. The building will house the new Fracture Clinic & Urgent Treatment Centre, this will house modernized and critical facilities for the hospital site taking pressures off the emergency department. This has been a super challenging project with the design and construction programme and it is a huge achievement to have reached the current stage of construction in such a short time period. Clarkebond are providing civil and structural engineering services for the project, the large new steel framed building is now complete on site with the cladding and internal fit out in progress. Alongside Nevada Construction, Stride Treglown & Hulley and Kirkwood the project has been really successful and I am looking forward to seeing it finished next year!

🙏 🤲 I am honoured and delighted to announce that I have been appointed as a member of the Industrial Advisory Board at Kingston University's School of Built Environment and Geography. It is a true privilege to be recognised in this way, and I am genuinely excited about the opportunity to contribute to shaping the future of civil engineering education. This new chapter has prompted me to reflect on the journey that led me here, and I feel compelled to acknowledge those who have been instrumental in supporting me along the way. First and foremost, I extend my deepest gratitude to my incredible parents. As immigrants, they made the brave decision to leave behind everything familiar in Lebanon to build a better life for our family here in the UK. Their selfless sacrifices and enduring dedication have always inspired me to strive for more. Thank you, Mum and Dad, for instilling in me the values of hard work, resilience, and perseverance, and for creating opportunities that you never had. Everything that I am today, and all the good that I do, is owed to you both. Whether through mentoring, collaboration, or simply offering a listening ear, I am committed to empowering those around me to achieve their goals. As I step into this new role on the Advisory Board, I look forward to supporting the development of the next generation of engineers and making a meaningful contribution to their future success.
