CNN International Commercial (CNNIC) is responsible for the business operations of CNN’s properties outside of the United States. All commercial activities for brands such as CNN International, CNN en Español, CNN Arabic, CNN Style, CNN Business and Great Big Story are aligned within the division. This encompasses the advertising sales, sponsorship partnerships, commercial content development, content sales, brand licensing, distribution and out-of-home operations, business development and marketing for the world’s leading international news provider. CNNIC is a recognised industry leader in international advertising sales and its use of award-winning commercial content, produced through its Create unit and driven by its advanced data usage and digital capabilities, has resulted in strong and enduring partnerships with many of the world’s most recognised brands. Its Content Sales and Licensing unit has relationships with more than 1,000 affiliates ranging from licensing the CNN brand through to content supply contracts as well as offering consultancy services.   • CNN is expanding its footprint in the Gulf and the Middle East through the creation of a new operation in Media City Qatar.   Set to go live later in 2025, this new operation will be home to a new weekly show on CNN International as well as the development of multi-platform content about trending stories driving the global zeitgeist.   CNN’s presence in Media City Qatar will complement CNN’s existing Middle East programming and newsgathering hubs across the region including the network’s flagship regional headquarters in Abu Dhabi, and CNN Arabic’s base in Dubai.   This news was formally announced earlier today at an event and signing ceremony with Jassim Al-Khori, CEO of Media City Qatar, at the Museum of Islamic Art in Doha. The delegation from CNN included Phil Nelson, EVP CNNIC, Meara Erdozain, SVP of International Programming, CNNI, Kostas Oikonomou, VP, CNNIC, and Becky Anderson, Managing Editor, CNN Abu Dhabi & Anchor.   • CNNIC and the Republic of Angola’s Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technologies & Social Communication are partnering on an advertising and media campaign to promote Foreign Direct Investment and Tourism to the country.   The year-long campaign will run on CNN’s TV networks, digital platforms, and be amplified on social media to reach defined audiences using the latest advertising and data technology. This new campaign will build on the successful results from a previous campaign with CNN to inform the world about the people, culinary experiences, and beauty of Angola.   The agreement between CNNIC and the Republic of Angola was formally signed at Angola’s Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technologies & Social Communication on January 31st, 2025 by Phil Nelson, Executive Vice President of CNNIC, and Mario Augusto da Silva Oliveira, Minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication.

  • Create Responsibly: 2024 Ecologi Update 🌍   CNN Create Brand Studio is looking back on its ongoing partnership with offset partner Ecologi | B Corp™ in 2024 with pride as we welcome in the new year.   Through its productions, the studio has been able to:   🌲 Expand the Create Ecologi forest to 3,046 trees   🐠Fund 22 carbon projects, including the Delta Blue Carbon’s mangrove restoration project.   🍃Support CO2e removal and habitat restoration   Coming into 2025, Create remain dedicated supporters of Ad Net Zero, and committed to producing content with carbon reduction at the forefront, offsetting any remaining emissions by funding global climate projects with Ecologi.   #CreateResponsibly

    As we conclude 2024, the production team is proudly reflecting on its continued collaboration with offset partner, Ecologi | B Corp™. We've expanded the Create Ecologi forest to 3,046 trees, and this year have been able to support CO2e removal and habitat restoration through our productions. We have now funded 22 carbon projects, such as Delta Blue Carbon’s mangrove restoration project, which captures the equivalent amount of carbon emitted from the project while also safeguarding ocean ecosystems and communities. As dedicated supporters of Ad Net Zero, we remain committed to producing content with carbon reduction at the forefront, offsetting any remaining emissions by funding global climate projects with Ecologi. We look forward to continuing this commitment into 2025. #CreateResponsibly
