We work with the NHS to provide high quality health and social care facilities that enable excellent patient care

About us

Community Health Partnerships (CHP) provides a high quality and valued service to commissioners and local partners across England, with the aim of delivering savings, increasing service integration and driving optimal use of the primary and community health estate. Wholly owned by the Department of Health, we have a strong track record of adding value to the NHS, offering a unique blend of investment, property management and strategic estate planning expertise. CHPs dedicated Strategic Estates Planning expertise and resource is supporting the NHS and wider public sector to develop and implement Local Estate Strategies that will drive system improvements, support service transformation and release capital from buildings that are no longer fit for purpose. As head tenant for the £2.5bn NHS LIFT estate, CHP is responsible for the overall management of 305 primary and community healthcare buildings across England. We provide professional strategic asset management services to effectively manage our estate through improved utilisation and contract management, driving out value from property to contribute to savings.

  • A great day at #nhsproperty2024 yesterday. The NHS faces a significant challenge to drive up productivity and deliver the Government’s mission and NHS shifts. It is well recognised that the estate is a key enabler, so it was good to hear different perspectives, good practice and insight from colleagues and parners working across NHS estates on how we collectively meet these challenges. A key message from the day was to make the most of existing assets, such as the LIFT buildings which are high quality and mainly in area of high deprivation. Being flexible and solutions focused to make change happen at pace. We had some really useful follow up conversations throughout the day. A fantastic opportunity to network with colleagues and partners across the NHS and private sector. Thank you to Public Sector Connect for organising another great conference and a pleasure to work in partnership with NHS Property Services Ltd.

As #RecycleWeek comes to an end for 2024, we are proud of our contributions to improving sustainability throughout our estate portfolio, whilst recognising there is always more to do to help the NHS move towards it's net zero targets. As one of the largest producers of waste in the country, it is vital that the healthcare system disposes of waste it in a safe, efficient and sustainable manner, and only creates waste when absolutely necessary. To date, over 50% of our sites have recycling facilities and we have helped recycle roughly 680 tonnes of materials including cardboard, plastic, glass, confidential paper and even an x-ray film. It may sound simple, however, our commitment contributes to a reduction in carbon generated from waste and financial savings for our tenants.
