What an incredible evening celebrating some very special people in Cornwall. The BBC Make a Difference Awards showed just how much difference one person can make even when faced with challenges of their own. It was such a humbling experience to be in such company and to celebrate these amazing souls. #bbcmakeadifference @bbcradiocornwall Cornwall Rural Community Charity

Last week some of our Clean Cornwall team joined Brooks Estates for a beach clean event at Perranporth beach. Brooks Estates are one of Clean Cornwall’s Change Makers and have been making amazing efforts to give back, and improve the environment. Last week they organised a beach clean of Perranporth Beach with The Cornwall Wildlife Trust. They invited their residents, corporate partners, various commercial tenants and local businesses to come and join the litter pick. An incredible effort was made and 28.5kg of litter was collected and separated into recycling, general waste and ghost gear (which will be recycled by Waterhaul). Our talented students from the Learn Your Way and Work Your Way put on a celebratory dining event last month at Old Bakery Studios in Truro for their peers and staff. The students were involved with the whole process from designing the menu to dressing tables, cooking and serving - resulting in an incredible meal! Watch the film to find out more... Thanks to all our partners for making the event possible!

Thank you Kate, one of our Carers Wellbeing Practitioners, for attending the Proud to Care Awards panel. CRCC are honoured to be involved with such a wonderful celebration of those dedicated individuals and organisations who aren't always recognised.
Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming a diverse and inclusive panel with representatives from Citizen Checkers, Cornwall Rural Community Charity, Cornwall Partners in Policymaking, and the Carers Partnership Board to review the nominations for our Proud to Care Awards. Together, we read through heartfelt narratives from a wide range of sources, including line managers, colleagues, care recipients, and their families. These stories were incredibly touching, highlighting the immense value of care workers, even though their contributions aren't always fully recognised or reported. A very special thanks to our panel for sharing their invaluable experience and helping to shortlist the nominees. We truly enjoyed spending time with you all today! We stand united with our partners across the sector and share this statement on behalf of the Trustees and Senior Leadership Team at Cornwall Rural Community Charity.
On behalf of the VCSE sector in Cornwall and Isles of Scilly, we collectively condemn the racist intolerance, hatred and violence we’ve seen erupting across the United Kingdom including in neighbouring Plymouth. As an alliance of VCSE organisations and groups, we stand united in solidarity with all people and communities targeted by those with racist, Islamophobic and xenophobic ideologies. We offer our support to colleagues and organisations across our sector, who are working tirelessly to ensure a hate-free Cornwall and support those facing appalling violence and abuse. As a sector, we stand for inclusion, compassion and support for all communities and especially those marginalised, ignored or subjected to abuse and discrimination. This is not a protest, it is racist extremism and we do not want it in our county. Please read the full statement and where to get support at:https://lnkd.in/ehRABheD 🤍🤍🤍🤍Our artwork was inspired by a post by Devon and Cornwall Refugee Support following riots on Monday night. We stand with you and together we will make a difference #HateFreeCornwall
