We know people are happier outside - regardless of what that may look like. If you're looking for inspiration for something to do this weekend, check out our list of favourite moorlands across the UK to visit. We're firm believers that our understanding and appreciation for moorlands can be enhanced by visiting them - travelling through these landscapes can give you a real sense of freedom and adventure. So grab your waterproofs and brush up on your navigational skills (our store colleagues are on hand to offer help with all that if needed!) and find somewhere amazing to experience from our list: https://lnkd.in/ejMHbDHU

We know people are happier outside...but we also know we have a responsibility to help protect the outdoor spaces we love for future generations to enjoy. It's why we're supporting the It’s Up to Us campaign by Mountaineering Scotland and Outdoor Access Trust Scotland, to raise funds for urgent repairs and maintenance on Scotland's mountain trails. We're asking customers in Scotland to help us by donating as little as 1p through Pennies when shopping in store with us. You can also find out more here: https://lnkd.in/eUDSgQPR

During the summer, we were helping to raise funds for Race for Life through Pennies donations at our till points. Thanks to our customers, together we’ve raised £38,067.96, which will be used by Cancer Research UK (CRUK)'s to fund life-saving work to bring us closer to a world free from the fear of cancer. Thank you to everyone who supported and made a donation.

We know how much people love to get out in the great outdoors with their dogs - and what better day to celebrate that than today, International Dog Day. Pictured are some of the dogs that enjoy being outside as much as our their owners (aka our fantastic colleagues). Our teams are as passionate about their pups as our customers, and you will always find someone with a suggestion for kit and walking routes. You can also check out our recommendations on the website: https://lnkd.in/eBaPKDYe

At Cotswold Outdoor, we’re proud to partner with both The British Mountaineering Council (BMC) and Mountain Training. Inspired by conversations with walkers, climbers and mountain leaders about the struggles women have managing their periods, menopause and toileting when out in the wild, the OutdoorHer hub is designed to support and inspire women on their journey. Last night, Cotswold Outdoor Ambleside hosted special guest Faye Latham for a female-only poetry workshop. Attendees had an opportunity to connect with other female outdoor groups before a talk about Faye’s book 'British Mountaineers'. Faye then delivered her poetry workshop which gave all attendees a chance to get creative and unleash their inner poet. O&CC Marketing Manager, April Howie, said: “It was a fantastic event bringing like-minded women together. “Faye Latham's workshop was really inspiring and creative, and it was lovely to see everyone's passion for mountaineering and poetry shine through.” Thank you to Stiles of Ambleside for providing the refreshments.
