On Tuesday 1st October, Craghoppers held its first event at its store in Village Walk Outlet in Pretoria, SA. Hosted by Craghoppers distributor Jackie Gouverneur, we invited Craghoppers Ambassador Kevin Richardson aka Lion Whisperer, who engaged a captive audience with tales from his Sanctuary and the amazing conservation work he does through the Kevin Richardson Foundation With over 2 hours of chat and Q&As, the evening ended with drinks and pictures with the man himself. All guests went home with a signed photo of Kevin, which had been taken by Jackie Gouverneur, who is also a very talented photographer. The event was a huge success and we are already planning the next one.

We are excited to let you know that the new Craghoppers X National Trust collection is now available to buy! Launched last weekend with our Escape into Autumn Event, we had activities taking place at 8 different National Trust sites across the country. Each activity was led by a group of Craghoppers’ friends and ambassadors, all of whom offered a unique adventure through the beautiful countryside cared for by the National Trust. The collection, which is largely made up of 100% recycled materials, includes men’s and women’s outdoor essentials such as warm fleeces, cosy insulated jackets, and active legwear. Shop the collection here: https://lnkd.in/e98anPnH

As the evenings draw in our attention turns to Autumn. Our new season campaign was shot on location in Northumberland. Romantic and remote, you can feel fewer feet have trodden these paths. Where better then, to put our new Autumn/Winter Collection to the test? Our adventure began at Hadrian’s Wall. Ancient, iconic and standing atop Whin Sill; a dolerite outcrop spanning three entire counties, forever dividing north from south.                                      Then we pressed on to Hen Hole, with its deep gorges, boulder strewn hills and crystalline waterfalls. Icy cold and in full winter flow. We played hide and seek in the depths of England’s largest forest at Kielder. Here the air is so clean, tree branches drip with lichens. Onwards, towards Bamburgh, the picture-perfect castle by the sea. Standing resolute, it is one of England’s most formidable fortresses.                                      Scouting between wind-sculpted dunes, we suddenly found ourselves on an empty, expansive beach. The salt-laced wind seemed to whisper ‘what wonderful solitude’. Time to leave, and we headed mothlike towards the flickering lights of Seahouses, a small fishing village along the coast. As the sun dipped below the horizon we reached the welcome warmth of The Olde Ship Inn, ruddy cheeked and elated. We spent seven days embracing the elements, journeying through challenging and varied terrain. Northumberland. A land like no other. Never to be forgotten. #Craghoppers #AutumnWinter #Embracetheelements #DiscoverYourWorld

We were delighted to be part of the new Go Outdoors store opening in York at the weekend. We took the opportunity to showcase some exclusive DofE styles and our National Trust collection, which is new for AW24. It was great to see the reaction to our product selection, in particular the printed fleece – like the ones sported by our team! With over 15,000 people alone coming through the doors over the weekend, the team was kept very busy with our interactive activity, where we invited participants to match 8 local National Trust locations with their location on the map, for the chance to win a voucher to spend at National Trust sites. Such an amazing store, packed with brands - it’s well worth a visit!

Yesterday a team from our Head office headed out to the Kinder Plateau in the Peak District to volunteer for the day with National Trust rangers. The day was spent planting 7000 plugs of Sphagnum moss as part of the larger Peatland restoration project currently underway. Once the newly planted sphagnum moss plugs have established, they will act as 'speed-bumps' for rainwater falling on the moors, forcing it to weave its way slowly down the moorland slopes instead of running in a straight line, thereby helping to alleviate flooding in nearby local towns and villages which have previously been at high risk. Over time, the sphagnum moss will also help create the right conditions for peat to actively form, allowing the site to better lock up carbon and provide unique habitats for wildlife. Peat is vital to the environment as it helps provide multiple ecosystem services; It acts as a carbon store; UK peatland stores more carbon than the combined forests of Britain, France and Germany It's a unique habitat for a variety of rare species It can help to clean and slow the flow of water, as it can hold up to 20 times its weight in water. It was a wonderful day for everyone, not only to connect back to nature and spend time as a team away from our desks, but to see first hand how sales from our much anticipated collaboration with the National Trust will go directly back into these incredible environmental initiatives, restoring and preserving this incredible landscape for generations to come. To celebrate the upcoming release of the first collection from our long term collaboration with the National Trust we were delighted to host a press launch at Petersham Nurseries restaurant in Covent Garden last week. A menu of locally sourced seasonal produce, accompanied by British Wildflowers, hosted in the beautiful courtyard setting was the perfect way to introduce the new collection which truly has been inspired by nature. Launching to consumers in September, the collection has been inspired by the landscapes National Trust look after. An earthy colour palette, with prints taken from fauna and flora, meets Craghoppers innovative clothing designs. As well as being made completely from recycled materials, 10% of net sales from the collection will go directly towards supporting the many conservation projects the National Trust support. Inspired by nature, designed for life. Thank you to SANE Communications Becky Stanford Emma Prendergast
