We have recently completed a successful trip to Norway where we conducted detailed Soil Resistivity Tests as part of an earthing study for the development of a new Data Center.   By applying the Wenner method, we collected vital data to aid in the safe and efficient design of critical electrical infrastructure, ensuring a reliable and secure project.   The survey and testing was completed in collaboration with GreyMatters Global, a part of the Crayside Group of companies.

This month we welcome Richard Bradshaw to the Crayside Consulting team as our new M&E Director based out of our Ipswich office. Richard comes with a wealth of experience delivering multidisciplinary schemes across multiple infrastructure & construction sectors across the UK and Europe.  It’s great to see our office in Ipswich in such a short space of time grow - we have recently expanded into a larger office! Swindon Station Canopies Platforms 1 and 3 This weekend saw the Sisk Rail team commence with the restoration works to the Platform 3 canopy at Swindon Station. This follows the successful completion of the Platform 1 canopy by our team and our fantastic supply chain. The two-storey Grade 11 classical building on the island platform at Swindon Station, designed by I.K. Brunel, opened in 1842, truncated by five bays at the eastern end c.1880s, with attached canopies of c.1880s. Several challenges had to be overcome, including limited access to obtain possessions and isolations; the condition of the canopy itself, with several issues found after stripping out the timbers, including rotten timbers; undertaking Fungal and Wood Boring Insect Surveys; and replacing additional rafters, sarking boards, edge beams and glazing support timbers. The before and after photograph show what a fantastic job has been achieved in restoring the platform 1 canopy, and we look forward to safely delivering the same high quality works to the platform 3 canopy, while putting passengers first. Working collaboratively with Network Rail, the GWR Station team, our supply chain and all the stakeholders has been the key to the success of Platform 1, and the same approach will ensure that Platform 3 is successfully delivered, preserving our heritage.
