We’re delighted to share an update on the onsite progress of the IPI project in Dudley as we enter week 30 of 79. Work is progressing well, with metal decking ongoing in Area B. Meanwhile, in Level 2 (Area A) preparations are underway and concrete to roof level and Level 04 (Area A) have also completed. Several key meetings have taken place, covering M&E elevations, small power distribution, and a review of the Building Management System (BMS). Additional reviews have focused on fixtures, fittings, and equipment (FFE), as well as the setting out and scheduling of Builders’ Work in Connection (BWIC). Further progress has been made on Category B works, including the kitchen and photovoltaic (PV) systems. Inspections have also been conducted for Latent Defects Insurance and Building Control compliance inspection. We are pleased to see to see our work at Alder Hey Children's Hospital featured in the latest edition of Landscape, the journal of the Landscape Institute, with our article in The Healing Power of Landscape: Nature, Community, and Resilience in Healthcare Environments.   In collaboration with Cullinan Studios, we explore the creation of the community cluster buildings within the Alder Hey healthcare campus. This innovative design is central to the vision of a hospital campus nestled within a park, offering a tranquil and healing environment for patients, families, and staff alike. Our landscape approach is grounded in the proven benefits of nature to mental and physical well-being. Our Marlborough Sports Garden project is the subject of a rallying call to City businesses from City AM's Matt Hardy: https://lnkd.in/g_zBTCYJ The garden serves thousands each year and is a vital open space in an area where 91% of homes are flats with limited or no access to gardens. Our planned £5 million redevelopment of the garden has been led by our community who want to see more indoor spaces, revamped sports facilities and more opportunities to get active. This is a project with long term benefits for health and wellbeing - our key focus is to work with those who often miss out on sports participation, while also providing both residents and workers with a state of the art place to play. We're proud of the what we've achieved so far - we're so close to our fundraising target. We're excited to work with businesses who want to contribute to long term, sustainable change in the capital. Alongside Anna Pagani of King's College London and Michał P. Drewniok of University of Leeds we have published our #housingsufficiency working group response to the UK Government's Environmental Audit Committee. The title of the Committee's call for evidence contained a contradiction in terms that made us glad to contribute ("Environmental sustainability and housing growth"). The process of weaving my colleagues' excellent research work into our written response was an absolute pleasure.
