  • Last week, the EPR team celebrated International Women’s Day; a global event that honours women's achievements and advocates for gender equality. This year’s theme, ‘For ALL women and girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment’, calls for action that can unlock equal rights and opportunities for all, with a particular focus on empowering the next generation as a catalyst for lasting change. In support of this, four volunteers from our London studio led workshops at Deptford Green School as part of Construction Youth Trust’s ‘Inspiring the Next Generation of Women in Architecture’ event. The social mobility charity empowers young people by providing access to training, education and employment opportunities in the construction industry. Held in celebration of IWD, the workshops aimed to educate Year 8 and 9 female students about the wide range of career opportunities in the built environment. Additionally, Senior Associate Hannah Baker participated in a careers event at Chorlton High School South, inspiring students about career pathways for women. EPR is committed to supporting the professional development of our female staff by providing resources for professional growth and fostering an open, inclusive environment. As long-standing partners of The Architectural Review’s W Programme, we champion underrepresented voices and drive change in the built environment. Through our diversity action plan, the EPR Everyone Strategy, and in-house School Outreach Programme, we’re working to improve access to careers in architecture - ensuring all underrepresented groups can thrive in our practice and the wider construction sector. #ForAllWomenAndGirls #IWD2025 #eprarchitects #architecture #design #equality #empowerment #support #outreach #wprogramme #diversity #inclusive #representation

Over the past decade, our Wrocław studio has developed a dynamic and vibrant culture, creating a supportive environment where people can thrive. From hosting regular social events such as escape rooms and office quizzes to organising cultural activities including cinema clubs and theatre visits, the studio is always buzzing with activity.   Sports socials are also a key part of life at our Wrocław studio, with annual ski trips to the stunning slopes of Czarna Góra, ice skating and kayaking along the Odra River. In addition to nurturing a strong social culture, the studio is committed to supporting growth and learning, offering internal presentations, lectures, debates and CPD events in the studio hub to help staff to develop professionally.   Last week, to celebrate the studio’s tenth anniversary, the Wrocław team gathered for an internal presentation, which showcased the studio’s most significant projects over the past decade, followed by a party at the award winning restaurant, Concordia Taste. Members of EPR’s London team also joined, with EPR Managing Director Chris Castle raising a toast to the studio’s achievements. It was a fantastic opportunity to reflect on the studio’s progress and the projects that have shaped its success - here’s to many more years of creativity and growth! #eprarchitects #architecture #design #tenyearsinwroclaw #WROX10 #wroclaw #poland #studio #tenyears #socail #culture #celebration

  • For the fourth year running, EPR is proud to support the RIBA Future Architects student mentoring scheme. An awarding process for both sides, the programme provides guidance and advice as students transition from study to practice, whilst offering architects an opportunity to support the next generation of talent. This year, ten volunteers from our London and Manchester studios are mentoring 29 students from five universities, including Greenwich University, London South Bank University and Manchester School of Architecture (MSA). The programme kicked off late last year and students have already taken part in several exciting site visits, including two office refurbishment projects in Westminster, 20-24 Carlton House Terrace and 83 Pall Mall. The remainder of the programme will include workshops on CV writing, interview techniques and goal-setting, helping the mentees plan their career paths and choose the right practice for their year out. • Since opening the Wrocław studio ten years ago, our team has applied their extensive experience to numerous projects, delivering exceptional and innovative solutions across the commercial, hospitality and residential sectors. From Angel City, a completed residential development in the heart of Wrocław to The Upper House, a super-prime residential project, the studio has contributed to some of the city’s most exciting and complex developments. The studio is also committed to positively impacting its local community through public realm projects, such as Sensory Park – a regeneration scheme on derelict land adjacent to The Upper House. EPR’s concept for the unique public space was developed through extensive consultations with the City of Wrocław and a design workshop held at Wrocław’s Architecture Festival. The studio’s expertise extends beyond architecture into interior design, exemplified by our current refurbishment of a prominent office building in Warsaw. Additionally, our interior design team in Wrocław plays a pivotal role in supporting numerous projects across our London studio, including 220 Blackfriars Road, a landmark mixed-use development in Southwark. #eprarchitects #architecture #design #tenyearsinwroclaw #WROX10 #wroclaw #poland #interiordesign #residential #masterplan #community

  • Last year, the head of EPR’s Manchester studio David Sparks, joined a group of design experts at x+why’s Manchester outpost for Mix Interiors’ latest roundtable discussion on sustainability. Chaired by Mix Interiors Deputy Editor Chloé Petersen Snell the thought-provoking conversation centred around the question – is it enough to just design sustainably? As the panel explored the need for a shift from maintaining the status quo to actively improving and healing our ecosystems, David noted that ‘doing less bad to actively doing good is a fairly major mindset shift’, underlining the crucial role designers need to play in driving this change. As the discussion moved towards regenerative design, David highlighted that this transformative approach requires granular research and tailored solutions for local challenges. He emphasised that regenerative design should focus on addressing specific local needs with innovations that are both contextually relevant and sustainable. A huge thank you to Mix Interiors for providing a platform to explore these important issues and for fostering such an engaging dialogue. • We are pleased to announce that EPR Design Director Pascal Wensink will be joining the NLA London Expert Panel for High Streets, working alongside industry heavyweights to examine the evolving landscape of London’s retail and hospitality sectors. With rising rents, technological advancements and changing consumer expectations reshaping the capital’s high streets, there is a growing demand for experiential, community-focused destinations that foster engagement with London’s retail and hospitality offerings. The panel will explore how placemaking strategies, partnerships and governance can revitalise the industry, focusing on how flexible mixed-use developments and ‘meanwhile’ uses drive footfall as well as the impact of regulatory changes on the sector. With his experience leading the Ram Quarter regeneration project - which successfully preserved the site’s brewery heritage while creating a new urban quarter in Wandsworth - Pascal will bring valuable insights to the NLA’s vital work in addressing the challenges facing London’s high streets.
