We saw a post recently that has some myths that need busting...
While MLCPs may be gaining more attention recently, their ‘positives’ do not outweigh that of copper in the slightest. Just because they ‘supposedly’ take less time to install, doesn’t mean they’re the better option. After all, it’s a reflection of how long it’ll last.
Sometimes, there is no need to reinvent the wheel - classics are classics for a reason! And if you choose copper press fittings, there is no need to solder, meaning MLCPs aren’t necessarily quicker!
So, why do we think copper remains a superior option? 🤔
♻️ Recyclability: Unlike MLCPs, which can contribute to microplastics and are difficult to recycle, copper is infinitely recyclable without quality loss. 🥽 Safety: It’s antimicrobial and doesn’t leach harmful chemicals into your water supply.
💪 Durability: The lifespan of copper, resistance to UV damage, and ability to withstand high temperatures make it more energy-efficient over time, requiring less maintenance.
🌍 Sustainability: Copper aligns with environmental goals by reducing microplastic pollution, ensuring a healthier planet and safer built environments for everyone.
