📣 Copper takes centre stage #GigaEurope 2025 This afternoon, Benchmark Mineral Intelligence's Giga Europe conference facilitated an expert deep dive into the #copper market through the lens of clean energy applications. Benchmark's Michael J. Finch was joined by leaders from International Copper Association Europe and The Copper Mark for a panel discussing the challenge of fulfilling soaring demand, the rise of recycling, and more. "Despite a downward trajectory when it comes to copper intensity in EVs, the outlook for copper demand from the sector is very bright," said Finch. "We're looking at around 2.3 million tonnes needed by 2030, and over 4 million tonnes when we include all e-Mobility out to 2040." Huge thanks for Quentin de Hults and Mike Smith for joining us in Brussels.

  • Case Study | Naoshima Smelter & Refinery    Thank you to Naoshima Smelter & Refinery for sharing how the Copper Mark adds value to their operations for our latest case study. As a site that also processes a significant volume of E-waste, it is interesting to hear perspectives on circularity and traceability from within the value chain. They also speak to what the assessment process looks like in practice - especially when considering equivalencies of the Risk Readiness Assessment with other standards.   Previous studies can be found by following the link in the comments of this post.   #thecoppermark #naoshima #casestudy #valuechain
