We believe that Quality is everyone’s responsibility all of the time -from the developers writing the code, to the project managers, and even the customers we’re working with. Let’s talk about how we can manage quality in the products we build from the very beginning of the process:   🔹 Define Quality from the start: Quality isn't an accident. It starts by defining what 'good' looks like and engaging stakeholders early in the process. Keep the communication lines open and ensure everyone is on the same page about the project's goals and standards.   🔹 Manage with courage: Transparency and courage are crucial when addressing unforeseen challenges or changes in project scope. Open communication with key stakeholders ensures alignment towards common goals and prevents compromising the final product.   🔹 Rigorous testing: Test early, test often. Implement rigorous testing throughout the whole development process, no matter how minor. This approach will help catch issues early and save a lot of pain and hassle as the project progresses. Remember, surprises are good for birthdays, not project deadlines!   🔹Scalability and future maintenance: When building solutions, think long-term. Ensure the right level of scalability is implemented and consider how easy (or difficult) it will be to maintain the solution in the future. Sustainable solutions are the cornerstone of excellent end results.   In the article 👉 Managing quality -aiming for excellence 👉https://lnkd.in/dQcXNPBg we share our key strategies that we use to ensure delivering quality projects!   👉 Feel free to share your thoughts and experiences below. Let's learn from each other! #QualityAssurance #ProjectManagement #SoftwareDevelopment #Testing #Scalability #Damilah

Over the past decade, Manchester United have had many great players at the club, but the team has been constantly underachieving.   What can we learn from this? No matter how much talent you have, if you don’t manage and motivate your people in the right ways, performance will suffer.   The same is true in any field, including mine: software development.   You can’t produce great software without great people. But you also need to ensure you create the right conditions for those people to succeed.   That includes:   ⭐️ Building and maintaining a positive culture ⭐️ Investing in training and development ⭐️ Encouraging innovation ⭐️ Celebrating success ⭐️ Working with customers as a single team   Is there anything you’d add?   Here is a link to my article on managing talent: https://bit.ly/3JTOyTb   #SoftwareDevelopment #SoftwareDelivery #TalentManagement #PeopleManagement #Damilah

Spot on! Over-reliance on QA at the end can be a big trap. Our CEO Iain Bishop agrees - to build truly high-quality software, we focus on defining "good" from the start & rigorous testing throughout. Want to learn more? What’s the biggest trap that software developers fall into when it comes to managing quality?   In my experience, it’s an over-reliance on quality assurance (QA) at the end of the process.   If you only test in the final stages of a project, it can lead to a whole host of problems – some of which may never be properly resolved.   Instead, it’s better to:   ✅ Understand from the start what ‘good’ looks like and how to measure it ✅ Manage time pressures to ensure quality is never compromised ✅ Use agile processes and test rigorously after every step    Do you agree?   Here is a link to my article on managing quality https://bit.ly/3vSidsr   #SoftwareDevelopment #SoftwareDelivery #Agile #QualityAssurance #Damilah

In the dynamic landscape of project management, we often come face to face with challenges that can initially seem like obstacles. The phrase, ‘There are no problems, only opportunities’ is a cliché – because, we believe, it’s often true. However, in these moments, we can discover new ways towards success. Our approach to risk assessment is grounded in a methodology that carefully evaluates both the pros and cons. Take, for instance, the scenario where technical changes present themselves as short-term risks. While the immediate implications may entail altering project scopes and timelines, the long-term benefits can be transformative. These changes, though daunting at first, lay the foundation for a robust platform that accelerates the development of additional features, paving the way for innovation and competitive advantage. It's all about perspective. Curious to learn more? Check out our latest article on 'Managing risk: measurement, mitigation – and opportunities' and discover how we turn project risks into transformative opportunities. ➡️  https://bit.ly/3w3bmw6 #RiskManagement #ProjectManagement #Opportunities #Damilah

Are you an optimist or a pessimist?   When it comes to managing risks in software development, I believe it’s important to be both in equal measure.   At the start of every project, it’s vital to identify and assess all the possible risks, then develop a realistic plan that can help you avoid or mitigate against them.   And it’s equally important to keep updating that plan. Risk management should be an ongoing process that everyone takes responsibility for throughout any project.   By doing this, it’s possible to give every project the greatest possible chance of success.   Read my article on risk management: https://bit.ly/4cVSpfJ   #SoftwareDevelopment #SoftwareDelivery #RiskManagement #ProjectManagement #Damilah

In our experience, scope creep – or ‘gold plating’, where unnecessary features are added to a product – usually comes from one of two places. 🔷 The first is the product manager or evangelist. Understandably, they always want the best product they can have – that’s their job. 🔷The second is on the technical side. There may be a desire to create a technological standardisation – for example, a new way of accessing data in a program – which invariably creates more work. Read more about our four main approaches to keeping a project on track in our latest article 👉 https://bit.ly/4cR4vGY #Damilah #ProjectManagement #ScopeManagement #AgileApproach #ProjectDelivery
