For seven consecutive years, Finland has been named the happiest country in the world. When we asked his Excellence why that might be, he replied that it's about contentedness, and a profound connection with nature. Apparently every Finn is within 2km of a forest. Thank you Nokia for the opportunity to spend the evening with Jukka Siukosaari, who was a wonderful host, full of steadfast wisdom and wily humour, and guests including Mark Boost, our client at Civo, Peter Beecroft, Robert Morgan, Edward O'Connor, Satyen Bhatt from Groq and Richard Petrie. It's always a pleasure to meet our partners Elizabeth Hunt, Paul Alexander, Paul Adams and consortium member of our dLLM proof-of-concepts, David Gong. Kindness and contentedness seems to be prevailing values for the whole team. A genuine privilege, gratitude your Excellence.

The only Data Centre company that recaptures the heat your compute generates & repurposes it for social good for free.
About us
We are the only Data Centre company that recaptures the heat compute generates & repurposes it for social good, for free. We believe that the future of data infrastructure should be based on sound, environmentally friendly principles. We work with partner industrial and public facilities to utilise the heat emissions from data centres to substitute existing heating and hot water requirements. Put most simply, we use heat from distributed edge micro data centres to save public swimming pools.

❗New video alert.❗ It's always been our intention to debate the drivers across the ecology within we find ourselves, Computing and Artificial Intelligence, Climate Tech, Energy, Finance and Government, Equitable Society and, most notably, the Climate Emergency. It's against this backdrop that we hosted Leo Rayman, CEO of EdenLab at Beyond Good. Quite often the 9 "Rs" of sustainability – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Refuse, Repair, Rethink, Remove, Repurpose and Recover - are convoluted with 'degrowth', inferring that moving away from conventional economic models comes at a cost; profitability. Leo's fast-paced presentation dismantles this misconception, and highlights actionable ways to transition economics for the future. Take for example, the humble fast food burger. Leo completely devours The Big Mac Index by applying the actual cost, if the megabrand that sells them made a semi-serious attempt to account for carbon. A New York Big Mac leaps from $5.23 to a make-it-large $24.67! Grab a non-milkshake, put your feet up and enjoy this 22 minute masterclass. Thanks Leo Rayman, working with you is always a total pleasure. https://lnkd.in/ek85SHEU -- Our next Beyond Good deep dives into the world of District Heat Networks. Don't miss it.

https://lnkd.in/evWN9ruj This was so relevant, I had to repost (thanks 🌤️ Simon Minton for flagging it) We're already well on the way to figuring out what we call dLLMs (distributed large language models) with our friends and Nokia and Civo. For a great overview of what we're planning, watch Clayton (from Nokia) explain from our recent Beyond Good event. https://lnkd.in/eMx5DxeT If you're a GPU cloud challenger wondering whether you should look into this approach - please get in touch. We happen to be looking for a partner for a 1st, 5 site PoC...

Join us in Soho next week for a conversation with Leo Rayman about the path to profitability in a post-carbon world. People often associate the 9 R’s of sustainability – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Refuse, Repair, Rethink, Remove, Repurpose and Recover – with a suppression of growth and profitability. Leo Rayman – founder and CEO of EdenLab – joins us for a Beyond Good event, to shatter that assumption, illuminating the path to the future with insights, learning and tools to ensure we thrive as we decarbonise our operations. We'd love to see you on Wednesday 25th September from 5pm - register for free on the link below.

Calling all LLM operators....
https://lnkd.in/dqtG9txd Together with our friends at Nokia and NVIDIA we're taking the 1st practical step towards a (decentralised) "Trillion Dollar Cluster", by building a 5 site, proof of concept across our new data centre estate. Working in collaboration with NVIDIA and Nokia, our data science teams will be experimenting with where and how different LLMs work across heterogeneous networks and hardware. We will be announcing our LLM partner in due course. In the meantime, any LLM experts who have been working on the problem of how to build physicallly distributed clusters (which work as a single platform on which to run LLMs) - please get in contact.
